This is why Tiger's streak (and overall dominance) is so incredible. Every week, some yahoo pulls a round out of his azz to challenge for the win. It's always someone different, but it's always Tiger they have to beat.

I keep telling people that the next MJ doesn't play basketball, he plays golf.

Like MJ, Tiger just refuses to lose. When the announcer said he was 0 for 21 in putts over 18 ft. this week, you knew he was gonna make it.

Most golfers would've tried to just lag it down there and two-putt to make it a playoff. Not Tiger. I didn't see Jack play in his glory years, but Im glad I am able to watch Tiger. Right now, he is the GREATEST golfer of all-time, bar none.

I saw Jack in his prime. He was the best ever.

So did I. Before it's over, Tiger will make people forget Nicklaus.

Actually in the interview afterwards he indicated he was just making sure his speed was correct because he didn't want a testy putt coming back. In other words, he was "lagging it" in a sense, although does Tiger EVER give way to the course and admit he can't make a putt? Of course not.

I don't think anyone will forget Jack, but there is no doubt in my mind that Tiger is the greatest golfer ever.

It's too bad Hogan got in that car accident and got his legs messed up, bout 1950. Most thought he'd be lucky to walk again. He had an iron will, walked again, and I believe he WON the 1951 US Open. In 1953 he played 6 tournaments, and won the 3 majors he played in (Masters, US, and British). He never played the PGA championship after 1950, because in those days, they played 36 holes on Sunday and Hogan could not walk 36 holes in one day. For 5 years during WWII, there were no majors, so in Hogans prime, he missed at least 15 US majors. He only played in one British Open, and he won it in 53. In those days, the British Open was not a "major", not until Palmer declared it a major. Hogan didn't play it because the expenses to get there, pay his hotel and meals, if he didn't finish real high, he would lose money. The margins were tight in those days, a very different game. With travel time he'd miss 2 US tournaments to play one in England, and he wouldn't do that, except the one in 53. He was a working guy and had to make a living one tourney at a time. I put Hogan at 3, and if he'd stayed healthy and strong, I think he'd have been better than Jack. He was self taught, never had a teacher, and as a teen, he caddied along side Byron Nelson. The annual caddie tournament at the country club where they worked in Fort Worth got to be a big event each year, with the members backing their caddies, and rival CC members eventually bringing in ringers to play Hogan and Nelson. Hogan and Nelson would win.
