no kidding! when did they become better than everyone else? i had a friend that moved to austin. after a couple of months there I asked her "are you a real texan now?" she asked what I meant. I said "do you think you are better than everyone else?"
she didn't answer, so I took that as a "yes".

haha. austin isn't a bad place. it just so happens to be home of the most obnoxiously ignorant and misinformed fanbase on the planet. but other than UT, the music and nightlife is pretty damn great.

silly texas fans, one guy said that the year we played them in cotton bowl they kicked our ass, and the team we fielded was the same team that won a national championship the following season. If i recall, we had a crap load of injuries for the cotton bowl, (one of which was our starting quarterback) and i was at that game, it didn't get ugly until the 4th.

let them bask in the thoughts that they will be national champions again, and that the little stick they have at quarterback would get taken off on a stretcher if he played in the SEC. Its always last year with Texas fans, other than Alabama is there any other school that lives in the past as much as Texas does? Our team is loaded with talent on both sides, the only position i give Texas the nod on is quarterback and the only reason why is because they play in the Big 12 where defense is obviously not present, maybe at linebacker because Sergio Kindle is a stud i will give them that. Offense maybe offensive line but we have a the best offensive lineman out of the 2 teams, we have better wide receivers, and running backs, we have better tight ends, on paper, Texas is no match for us. On the field it may be different because for the past few years we seem to play down to the competition, i honestly still think that we should have had only 1 loss the whole year, which would have been Florida, a game we were in until mid 3rd quarter. The Ole Miss game we got our asses handed to us as well, so i guess maybe 2 losses.

I long for the chance to play Texas again, i was at that Cotton Bowl freezing my nuts off at 10 a.m. watching Christina Simms running up the sideline pointing at LSU fans, if i had a sniper rifle that day i would be posting from a cell.

Well I am sure I will be flamed here. Even though the Horn fans are clueless here that this is an obvious LSU fan
UT has a pretty good argument.
They are pretty stacked and Colt McCoy is a gamer.
LSU matches with UT talent wise no question. But UT has a pretty compelling argument to be a top 5 team as far as this decade goes. Of course their only real competition is OU. Ole Miss Hammered Texas Tech their darling last year so clearly the SEC is a tougher conference. PLus they are not scared to play tough OOC games. Not that we are not as well. Just saying, I dont know if I am on the UT football is overrated bangwagon I hear from many fans herein North Texas (OU fans)

Personally if LSU played UT ten times this year I really think it would be 5 to 5.
UT is going to be really good this year I think.

Except for the fact that they believe whole heartedly that 6th street is far superior to Bourbon and Beale

I live in Austin and I am from NOLA.

6th Street is far better than any of the bar scenes in Baton Rouge, but it's certainly no Bourbon St.

i was always fond of chimes back in the day and under the perkins st. bridge, Ivar, Duvics etc. But 6th st. in Austin does rock, and even though my heart will always live with Baton Rouge, Austin is alot more tolerant and alot cleaner.
