I LOVE the idea of a pouncing Tiger....love it! I never even noticed the arms until it was just mentioned in this thread. I knew it was called "Toonces" around these parts, but never knew why. I even knew who Toonces(the driving cat) was. If they would fix the arms, I think it would be a sweet logo. I seem to be in the minority around here on this one, though. To each, his own....I guess.
Agree with the concept, but if we're going for a pouncing tiger, then depict a pouncing tiger, one that looks somewhat ferocious instead of some cutesy Chuck E. Cheese reject.
The logo everyone likes the most (that Toonces replaced) looks like a "scaredy cat" and from a distance it looks like a purple polka dot.
Do a Google for "tiger logo" and click "images". You know, . . . there are some far worse tiger logo's out there than ours . . .
Red, right now, in my office, are two of those big cardboard schedules we used to have back in the '70s. You know, the ones with the tiger stepping out of tiger stadium. One from 1968, the other from '73 You can't find an image of them anywhere. Those were great looking logos.
I can't find it either. This poster came out after the upper decks were added but it ain't an LSU licensed image.
