I watched for awhile. Really not much difference except when they gave us wide angles and you could see the stands were empty. Darlington doesn't have infield seating to begin with. Charlotte next week will look strange with an empty infield.
Alex Bowman was right behind Harvick fo about the last 40 laps. Jimmie Johnson was leading the last lap of the first stage and wrecked his racecar. Denny Hamlin got shoved up the wall. Not the greatest race I've ever seen but not bad racing. Wasn't as weird watching with empty stands but you never hear a race crowd over the roar of the engines anyway. Pit crews all had helmets and you couldn't see the masks. Football, baseball and basketball will be different
Kids are playing baseball here in Oklahoma. In what has to be one of the strangest decisions I've seen someone has decided that the best way to do this is to only have one umpire on the field. Just one! He calls balls and strikes from behind the pitcher. That will turn into a clusterfuck as soon as the first runners on the corners situation presents itself.
Is fewer officials a bad thing? If this sort of thing catches on they might have to close the SEC school of football officiating in Birmingham.
In baseball it is. You know how crazy things can get when a single runner is on base much less two or three. That is far too much for one guy to handle especially if he is calling balls and strikes as well? So many scenarios where this can get completely out of hand. I predict many more videos of brawls happening between parents if this doesn't change soon.
If a brawl happens at one of your game get somebody to record it and post the video here. You won't be the cameraman because you will be involved in the brawl.
