I know but aside from a few threads I feel (And I could be wrong) that many of us looked at the SEC championship as a mere stepping stone to this MNC game. There was one "We are SEC champs" thread the rest was who we play in some mythical title game. There is NOTHING mythical about the SEC championship. It was decided ON THE FIELD. LSU beat Alabama. We are SEC Champs. No media person or idiotic Bama fan can ever change that. For me I really wanted that title, like I said I ordered shirts for everyone. LSU completed the single best season in LSU history and we got to witness it. LSU went to Atlanta and thumped a 14th ranked UGA team (in essentially 1 half of play). That to me was the pinnacle of this season. Will I be disappointed if LSU loses to Bama. Sure. But I can tell you it will not and never will take away from this SEC Championship run. To me football season is over with one game to play to decide who gets some other trophy. But for me much of the hardware is in the barn.... But again that is just me....
Me neither. That 6 win bowl eligibility needs to be flushed. Every conference does it but for argument's sake I'll use an SEC team. Take Miss St, for example. They beat Memphis, La Tech, UAB, and Tenn-Martin. Two conference wins and they're in. We actually have 2 SEC teams with only 2 conference wins and are playing in a bowl. It says how bad things are in Knoxville when they aint bowlin. Well that's part of the dam problem - 35 fricken bowls.
There are, maybe, 3 games worth watching. How about the Smurfs in the MAACO bowl? That's gotta sting.
I agree the bowl picture this year is bleak. I'm debating on even doing my bowl pick 'em I do locally.
Generally I think the whole way too many bowls thing is quite true - but I have to admit I'm moderately excited for ULL making it to their first bowl game. And La Tech has themselves a bowl too. Go little guys.
