Check this out. LSU and USC may end up with 6 of the top 7 players in the nation (3 each). LSU - McFarland (2), Shepard (4), Randle (6) USC - Barkley (1), Kennard (5), Te'o (7) Cierre Wood (3) committed to Notre Dame. USC also has Burfict (12), Hall (14) and Carroll (18). LSU would counter with Davenport (17), Loston (20) and Richardson (28). Richardson stands a good chance to move up to a 5 star. That would give both LSU and USC six 5 star players. USC has a shot at Marlon Brown (16), as does LSU to some degree. I still believe LSU has a shot at Shaquelle Evans (24). Both are 5 star receivers. USC currently has only 1 other player in the top 100 (Graf at 77). LSU has Janzen at 89. LSU also has Brockers, who fell out of the top 100 (previously 91), so he must be between 101 and 110. Pratt was previously at 104. We shall see tomorrow where he ended up (should be in that area). Mingo was at 124. Calhoun was at 131. Ford stands a good chance to end up in the top 100 with a strong senior season (was at 155). Other players of interest are Filo (110), Knile Davis (114), Eric Gordon (134), Bumphis (138), Chris Williams (139), Farms (143), Barrow (152), Bell (161), Sentimore (174). In the top 100, LSU has shots at Debose (33), Berry (37), Patterson (43), Telfort (55), Michael (56), Brent (59), Lacey (62), Charles (64), Montgomery (65), Carter (66, DB from Ely, hmmmm sounds familiar), Martinez (67), Holloman (69), Gallon (74), Appleton (78), Coleman (81), Tate (83), Armstrong (88), Cox (100)...that's 18 of the last 68 players in the top 100. What a fun battle to watch. It will be LSU and USC battling for #1, with the other finishing a close 2nd. Then a big gap down to #3.
That is interesting isl, thanks for putting it all together in one place. :thumb: Regardless of where we end up I know our class will be awesome.
It is a complete joke if he stays there. The guy's good, but not the #1 back in this class much less the #3 player in the country.
6'0" 192 lbs. Runs a 4.5 40. That's a DB's size and a safety's speed. Uh, yeah, a slight bit overrated.
Not really. If Evans or Brown commit, then I think we take 3 WRs in this class w/ Bell. There is more to the board than just talent. Assuming the coaches are determined to have our class at least 50% Louisiana kids, it appears they will have to accept commitments from "lower caliber" athletes. This being the case, Bell is too good of a WR to pass up. If Evans or Brown were in Louisiana it would be different, but they aren't.
I agree. Only if Pratt or Ford decommit. We took 5 last year. IMO, we only take 3 if it is a guy like Brown/Evans or there are some qualifying issues with guys from last year. This sort of thing won't be discussed until late, but I would think they'd be open to the idea.
Evans is a 5 star now. Being from California, USC must be at the top of his list right? What is LSU chance of getting him ? Do we get he and Randle?
