Other than the sacks, the OL did seem to play better today. We had some decent success in the first half (if only we could have put some more points on the board), and toward the end of the game when it really counted. The first two possessions of the second half were terrible. In any event, something positive has to be taken from this game. As has been mentioned in other threads, if JJ can get rid of the ball faster, and recognize when he should throw it away, this takes some of the negative spotlight off the OL. :geauxtige
The announcers actually made a wise-crack insinuating that it was a restaurant in Baton Rouge! They said they would like to know which one so they can make sure NOT to eat there next week! Dumba$$es!!:angryfire
i had this convo with a friend earlier. the team has been in athens long enough it was from someplace there if it was food poisoning. trust me. i got food poisoning the night before the first lsu game in omaha this year. from something i had only had a few hours before.
Yeah, the running game was a hell of a lot more effective than it's been all year today. Seemed like the OL had improved. I still don't see how Scott only averaged 5ypc. Seemed like he was ripping off 7-8 yarders with regularity.
If the OL comes around this will be one hell of a team. As it is now I love the fight they showed at the end of the last two games as a team. Back to the OL, they just dont seem cohesive. Ive been saying I HATE the constant looking to the sidelines. Im not saying thats the reason for their slacking but I just feel it would help the team a lot more not having to constantly check over. Hopefully they are all well and ready to go next sat.
They change the play at the line based on the look given from the defense. They played alot better. Next week they will have to play their best game all season, we MUST control the line of scrimmage, and have long time consuming posessions.
im pretty sure this is more of an annoyance to the fans than anything else. everyone hates it though it may prevent the offense from getting in a good rhythm. however, they should scrap it just because im one impatient mother****er. i hate it.
Of course it is possible to get food poisoning anywhere if the food isn't handled/cooked properly. But this just seemed like another cheap shot at LSU and Baton Rouge! That was an ignorant comment by the announcers! Hell, it may not even be food poisoning! There is a lot of Flu going around!
I know Ive criticized the staff as much as most but I admit, overall the team looked in sync. More so than any other game. Still, I dont care for it. You are so right though, LSU MUST control the lines next week. After today Im feeling a lot better about the team as a whole. LSU didnt punch it in and should have won easier but I liked the overall play today.
