I didn't expect the blowout that we saw last night, but let's be rational about it. Did anyone on this board expect LSU to win a national title this year? I mean, come on. The Tigers are very inexperienced in a bunch of key positions. QB, LBs, CBs. They went into The Swamp, at night, and lost to a team that is not likely to lose again all year. The Tigers made multiple errors early. They fought back nicely, then ran out of gas against a faster, better team with more experience. Florida, barring injury, will win the SEC championship and play for the national title. Let's see how our Tigers respond. They have a big challenge next week at South Carolina. That crowd will be hyped, and it will be at night against the hated Spurrier. I expect to see a better performance from LSU. CLM has instilled too much pride in his kids for them to play two stinkers in a row. There will be no championships this year. But by year's end this will be a team Tiger fans will be proud of. :tigereye:
I suggest we seek advice from our friends at Ohio State. They should know how to deal with something like this.
I am sad and kinda down today, but we got whipped by a much better team last night. There's no shame in that....our boys played hard. My real problem- we didn't play well. I'm not saying we could have won last night, but I didn't expect that outcome. We made a lot of mistakes that get you beat, and Florida played its best game. :crystal::geaux::crystal::geaux::crystal:
I kept on thinking that if they were a good team like the 2003 team, they would bounce back after a bad loss, similar to the 2003 team:grin:. I am sure no one hated the loss more than themselves:tigereye:
I told my dad before the game that we would probably lose, but in a 35-28 shootout, so it's not so much that we lost (and no one was expecting another NC this year), but that it wasn't even competitive. That's what bugs me. At least it has me excited to see who our next D coordinator might be. :thumb:
Next Saturday night we will know what we have.... Real character, courage and toughness comes from adversity. Last night's loss was humbling and to some, discouraging. Last night's loss was like watching the World Heavyweight Champion (and your hero) get knocked out in the 2nd round of a title fight. Real Champions go back to the drawing board, humbly, and work 10 times harder than ever before to get back that championship glory. Those "One hit wonder Champions" fade away into oblivion. I will be watching closely this coming Saturday night. If our boys come out and drum Spurrier's bunch, I'll feel a lot better about our chances the rest of the way in 2008. But for now, I will sulk just a little bit longer.... :crystal::geaux::crystal::geaux::crystal:
Did anyone else notice the Florida Player after the last touchdown laughing and saying to his teammate, "We just dropped 50 on 'em!!"?
