“He’ll have an opportunity in the next several games to show his wares and play some more,” Miles said Wednesday. “If it looks like it’s best for us to win the game to substitute another quarterback, we will absolutely do that. For me, it’s the best opportunity for victory, the guy who has the greatest chance to help us win the game. Frankly, Brandon Harris is getting closer and closer. We’d love to get him in the game.” That means that if Jennings has a bad game, he will give Harris another shot. Just like he has done twice already this season. He couldn't be much plainer.
Love to see this but I have a feeling that this isn't going to happen unless AJ gets hurt or suspended or can't play of some other reason. Harris might get trash minutes but nothing significant.
No, I think a couple of early turnovers will do it. Maybe even a couple of missed open receivers. Les wants to win these last two games but he's not risking a trophy so I figure he will be more likely to open up a passing game . . . except for the weather. If it is an icy handoff game, let the experienced center/quarterback team handle the football.
The latest forecast for Saturday night has it still very cold, but not wet. No chance of snow there (apparently) until during the day on Sunday.
Have we considered that Harris is Miles guy, but he learned his lesson with Lee. Putting a QB out there when he is not ready can ruin a guy as we have already seen. Maybe he views Jennings as expendable and wants to nurse Harris along for the future. He & Cam may feel Jennings has reached his ceiling but is serviceable to the extent that he can run the offense with minimal damage and get us through the season without killing the morale of the other players. Harris may come along and be ready for next season. Wasn't he just in high school 6 months ago? We all know he has the physical talent to be a great qb for us, but the maturity is not there and our coaches want to make sure they don't ruin a great opportunity. Just a thought....I get those now and then, but my wife tells me to ignore that voice....I never listen!!
This is right in line with those that watch a Les Miles press conference and walk away going "Man, what a genius, he is so coy and he is doing that on purpose" No, No he is not. You need to fight off the urge to buy into this. It is just not so.
I know Shane, but the sunshine gods keep putting bad thoughts in my head....maybe I'll just have a cigar and relax.
