It would be improvement if he threw the ball away when the receivers are covered instead of scrambing backwards and either throwing an interception or intentional grounding, which is effectively a sack.

I agree with you that he wasn't perfect, but when discussing improvement you have to look at past results vs current results. If you look at the amount of times he did that last year vs this game I think you have to say there was some improvement there.

The low play count is because Jefferson was checking his first receiver then running. I seriously doubt the coaches called for Jefferson to run all night. Jefferson was a major reason our offense was in and out like a flash. If it weren't for TV, our D would have gotten no time to rest. We won't win big in the SEC with JJ playing like this.

I don't have a lot of confidence that Lee would be better, but if JJ isn't better than this, both QBs need to see the field.

    Jefferson has three major problems:

    - He has the slowest release on the planet, he has to go through the whole process to get the ball out to have any velocity on it
    - He is just not a good option QB even though he probably has enough physical ability for it
    - He doesn't look up field if there is anyone within 5 yards of him

He is good enough to get you 8-10 wins if you keep the talent around him high enough.

Of course, Crowton does no QB any favors.

I agree with your assessment of the game.

Lee is the more nature QB, quick throwing motion. The problem is Crowton puts all QBs in a bind. If there were a different OC then I would go with Lee, as is, yes, I think Lee can look worse.

Russell Shepard seems to be getting the Keiland Williams treatment. I just don't get it.

I'm not sure where Shepard was in the 2nd half, but let's not forget that he dropped two 3rd down conversions in the first half. And let's not forget that KW never could really develop into a dominant back.

FWIW, I think Shepard has much more upside than KW. And he was being used a lot in the 1st half. It was the 2nd half that was puzzling.

I look at Shepard as a man without a position. He has some nice skills but where do you put him as an every down player, I don't see it.

Anyone but Crowton! Watching the second half of this game was absolutely miserable.

FIRE LES MILES NOW! This game was more of the same. I felt like I was watching LSU last season once again.

    SAD!

He's a pure athlete harvin type... he can do all skill positions and special teams... but like most of our stars they don't play until their last year. Imagine JJ lining up at QB, Shep behind to his right... pitch to shep, then pass back to JJ (since he likes to run) and let him use his legs to make yards. Or using shep in some screens and dump routes. All of these at or behind the line of scrimmage passes we get nothing with is getting old, after 2 years of ineffectiveness with it, you'd think they'd quit doing it.
