We all know that's why he was brought in anyway. Just let him take over now and start calling the plays and designing new ones that have imagination and that we can actually execute.

That first half had Gonzales written all over it. Felt like I was watching the Gators at times.

    Second half. I'm actually speechless.

A leopard can't change his spots and I almost bought into the change I witnessed the first half. The second half confirmed that indeed those spots don't change. Very frustrating. Coach Miles lost his ability to play fearless and dominate an opponent.

I saw another indecisive Jordan Jefferson in the pocket, taking huge sacks and penalties and a foolish interception. No improvement from last year. If he can't generate an offense, Then we have to see what Lee can do.

I saw the offensive line perform better, opening holes and making a pocket. Murphy an Ridley did not solidify their positions, we may have to see what Ford can do.

I didn't really see a huge problem with the play calling, but with the execution. The holding and grounding penalties were stupid and costly. The three turnovers were costly, too. But Crowton didn't hold, fumble, or take huge sacks.

I saw an offense that ran the ball inside and outside, shotgun handoffs to Shepard and quarterback draws. We ran the option, the spread, and the I formation. I saw passes long to wideouts and passes over the middle to tight ends, even a bubble screen to Shepard.

As far as coaching, I'm more upset with Chavis not making the second-half adjustments to stop the UNC passing game which shredded us. Again I saw a defensive line that not only failed to get pressure on the QB, but also failed to plug the middle alone and required linebackers to stop the inside run. That led to UNC killing us with short passes to receivers covered by linebackers. Safeties let men get behind them WAY too often (once is too often).

He may not have taken those penalties, but he coaches the kids who did...

Miles shut it down. No other explanation.

I am so disappointed in Jefferson's play tonight. Lee could be bad, but he can't be worse. If this is the best QB play Les can provide us, I think both QBs should see the field. Miles killed us tonight allowing Jefferson to continue on as he was.

I don't remember JJ taking any sacks but maybe he did.

He was more decisive in the 1st half but the Fisher/Saban mentality must have come in from the press box with a big lead and JJ looked handcuffed again. JJ needs to show decisiveness the whole game next time around to gain confidence for the big fish coming up shortly on our schedule.

I think we should have used the slant routes more to build confidence because they were working fine. JJ was getting rid of it fast and gaining decent yardage and 1st downs.

Edit: UNC had 1 sack for -21 yards. Was that the grounding penalty one?

Um, yea I think Lee can be worse. I'm sure you were only kidding and hadn't forgotten about the last 2 years of Jarrett Lee. I would rather have Betty White as our qb than have a qb with more career interceptions at lsu than touchdowns.

Yep. He didn't take an actual sack all game. That right there is improvement in itself. Seems like we should send a RB out as a check down for him more often. It seems like every time he gets locked up it's because he doesn't have a short option to go to when the deep routes are covered.

That also takes a RB out of pass blocking, but he really needs a safety valve he can go to whenever he needs it. Even if it is for minimal gain..

We gave up 0 sacks. The "sack" was the grounding penalty.

JJ showed a lot of improvement to me.

What I think most people are missing is the value of offensive rhythm. We give him zero opportunity to get into one. He is an accurate passer. Our coached intentionally slow down the game on offense. The proof is our near the lowest in CFB plays per game on offense, Once again tonight we only ran 55 plays. You can't get anything going only running that few plays.
