Yes. UM fans are pretty much the same way with Carr. But look at the fans who have not been "spoiled by success." Kansas, Hawai'i, Missouri, West Virginia, Arizona State, Illinois, Boston College etc. Do we really want to build a memory of this kind of disrespect AGAIN (Remember Charlie Mac?) for many years of nine and ten wins? Do we really want to trek through the desert of numerous 3-8 seasons to gain some appreciation for a great year capped with a major bowl game? Folks we are 10-2 after losing, what, six first round draft picks in 2 years, four last year? Remember only ESPN thinks USC has three national titles. Results on the field say otherwise.
I think he means National Titles. OH, that is what he said, National Titles. :hihi: Say what you mean, mean what you say.
Dude, I'm only guessing what he means. I took his post to mean 1 National Title in the BCS era (the last 10 years), this decade.
See, I can boldface a partial quote from you, too. The way USC pops into my statement is because so many fans are thinking somebody, anybody, should declare LSU national champs and the greatest team in college football history. Just like USC. Just because we have LSU on our chests means we deserve it. That is how ESPN acts about USC. "They are No. 1 because we say so." "They have the best team because we say so." "Losing on the field is irrelevant to our greatness which must be justified, somehow, or I will cry myself to sleep tonight." We scream when ESPN and USC act like that, yet we turn around and act exactly the same way after a loss to Arkansas.
See, I can give you red stars........oh, you can't see- then just trust me. :hihi: Nobody is saying that though.......except you. As far as the rest of your post, the BCS takes care of that and LSU was #1......TWICE.
Wow, I totally missed this somehow? I don't see anyone saying on this board that we should be number 1 whether we win or lose, especially after today, quite the opposite. I will agree with the statement you made about running off a coach after winning 9 or 10 games. Nebraska is finding that out the hard way as we speak!
ESPN declared USC "won" national titles in 2003 AND 2004 and determined them to be the greatest team in the history of college football in 2005. Well, on the field, under the agreed-upon system they have ONE title. ONE BCS NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP SYMBOLIZED BY THE AWARDING OF THE CRYSTAL SEARS TROPHY TO THE TEAM THAT WINS THE BCS POLL AS NATIONAL CHAMPION AFTER THE CONCLUSION OF THE BOWL GAMES AND THE SUBMISSION OF VARIOUS POLL VOTES AND COMPUTER RANKINGS BY VARYING ORGANIZATIONS SELECTED BY THE BCS HIERARCHY -- "HIERARCHY" BEING IDENTIFIED AS THOSE INDIVIDUALS REPRESENTING THE BCS CONFERENCES AND SCHOOLS WHO HAVE FORMULATED AND ADJUSTED THE BCS SYSTEM RULES AND QUALIFICATIONS OVER THE PAST SEVERAL YEARS (MEANING MORE THAN THREE YEARS AND LESS THAN TWENTY YEARS} AS THAT SYSTEM HAS HAD A FLUID EXISTENCE, WHEN "FLUID" IS TAKEN TO MEAN VARYING AND CHANGING OVER TIME. Do you now need to know what the definition of "is" is, Mr. Clinton? Is that clear enough? Will you be able to "take" that to mean National Title as defined under the BCS system? Wouldn't want you to have to "guess." Play dense with common English grammar if you like.
