Glad you brought up the fans at Tiger Stadium. This had to be the most quiet group I can remember at Tiger Stadium. Were they hung over from Thanksgiving? Game too early to get drunk before it started? All sleepy from going to Walmart and Target at 4 a.m.? What was the deal? It didnt' "feel" like a Tiger Stadium game. At least not in the first half. Like they used to say in the old western movies....."I don't like it....it's too quiet."
The only thing that scares me about Spurrier, is that he's retiring in 2-3 years, and we're looking for a coach all over again. Dude, c'mon. The D gave up 7 freaking points to Tulane. That's it 7. Have you been paying attention to what that kid Forte has been doing? LSU held him to only 70 yards. That game didn't start any problems for this D and if you think it did, you need to go back and watch it again. They gave up 1 drive that entire game. The problems didn't start until after the Florida game. Florida presented some match-up problems, so they had a pretty good game, but we held them below their averages across the board. The injuries started in the Kentucky game, and our D has steadily regressed from there. Mostly because guys are banged up, which causes them to tire quicker than if they were 100 %.
We can agree to disagree here. You are right about the injuries causing players to tire quicker. They are certainly a problem but every team is dealing with them. Its still a factor though that the DL cant get ANY penetration on their own. Blitzing more may allow some long plays but its still better than methodically getting taken apart on a consistent basis. Which is more tiring. I just hope LSU can regroup and win the SEC. I also hope that the coaching situation gets resolved quickly. Like I said, I hope Miles stays. I just hope that this loss doesnt stay with us. Michigan suffered a huge loss last year to OSU and they havent recouperated since.
And so does everyone else. As far as SabanFan goes, he only pays attention to the negative. He ignores the positive feedback, it must make him high as a kite. He must be Autistic. It didn't take a genius to realize we were in for some rough times ahead especially the way the season has gone for number 1 and 2 teams not to mention other reasons which we all know about.
And almost every team is losing because of them. This was our turn. I just think it's more than a coincidence that once the injury bug started biting, our D regressed.
I find that ironic in a way. Nutt DID have a good QB but the games (figuratively speaking) that were played to get him there caught up to CHN and now Mustain is in California. CLM is still a better coach.
Yeah, this a total collapse. We folded like a wet newspaper. 10-2 with both losses coming in triple overtime and 35+ wins in three seasons is a complete failure. Maybe we should "de-emphasize" football and turn the state's football fortunes over to Southeastern. And it is that too many LSU fans want to line up early to be the first to join the idiot brigade. Heck, with fans like this Woody Hayes would be praying for an offer from Michigan.
Let's be realistic, UM fans would be the same way. Its funny that I agree with your sarcastic remarks and yet you totally ignore the truth that all sports teams have these kind of fans.
