I really don't think it's about Bama anymore than its just a team we have to be much better than we are now on offense if we want to compete for the west. At least not for me. And we weren't getting closer. We were regressing since 2012.

Because even with equal talent we weren't going to outscheme them with our current staff. Now they started our demise this season but that just magnified what was clear to everyone prior.

The traditional big programs like Michigan, Ohio State & FSU don't change coaches nearly as often as the less successful programs, like Ole Miss, TCU.etc.

Still, an 11 year run is longer than most these days. Spurrier was into his 11th season. The only ones still around longer that I can think of is Mark Richt and Bob Stoops. Oh, and Kirk Ferentz at Iowa. And Richt may not be at Georgia much longer.

I think this focus on BAMA is from outsiders. I don't sense the forum, with its minion avatars, has obsessed about BAMA to the degree of:
    predictable offense
    no qb development
    terrible special teams
    not getting better

No doubt Les Miles is a great american, and a good coach, a great recruiter, but this slide toward mediocrity has just gone on and on and on, and he is the one constant.

If I thought he was being kicked to the curb and would stay there, I might feel differently, but a) he is gonna get mega rich and b) he will land a new gig in weeks, if not days or even hours, if he so wants.

I heard Neil Degrasse-Tyson was in on the meeting, as this was really about a dark matter.

OK, one of my few claims to illusive fame follows. I was in Des Moines seven years. The guy I worked for/with was a big UofI guy. This was early 2000s. Iowa was sucking in football and they were all over Ferentz ass.

A local radio show had a feature to get listeners to call in and pronounce what TV show was most like Iowa's pitiful performance. My friend was offering up ideas, and I said something like, TV Show, hell, Iowa Football is like the HISTORY CHANNEL.

That night, driving home, I was listening to talk radio and they took a caller, and it was my friend and he offered up HISTORY CHANNEL. Radio hosts went wild, and they played that bit, on this show's lead in for the rest of football series.

I gave my friend hell for stealing my shit, so he took me out to lunch, during work week, and we ate large, drank larger, and took a cab home!

I wish he was willing to change the way he coached , would love to see him stick around a few more years. He wont change though so a change is the only option.

So you think all of em out same scenario. If that's the case then how could anyone be against this? National media, I know most of it is naysaying to get views and clicks, but if every major coach would be treated the same no one should complain.

The cardinal sin in football coaching is Thou shalt not lose too much, especially to your most hated rival
