He also said and I agree with him, that Rashard Robinson and Jalen Mills were right on top of both TD's.
here ya go. i transcribed some. there were some really strong performances in that game and for me to deny that would be a mistake. i loved the effort and energy of that team. both offensive and defensive lines played much better. the idea and first and tens were probably without doing the arithmetic probably averaging 7 or 8 yards on first and ten. im disappointed. i certainly understand the position that we're in but i like my team. i think they will respond. on the clock management gaffe: the opportunity for us, to use a timeout certainly was talked about and considered immediately. We were already on the ball. By the time they got the chains moved it was a 10 second clock. and a 10 second clock we never expected that it would be, it, we would use a uh 10 second play. um, so what we did is is we made a decision to dont let the defense get you know their defense squared away, we had the play we wanted. so lets call that and run it and we were at the line of scrimmage. we didn, eh uh you know I went back and looked and said it appeared that clock had started maybe a little bit before it should have been, or maybe it was running at the time. we were, and I looked at it on game film, we were at 10 seconds and on the ball so, if 2 seconds elapsed before there was an 8 second play, ah uh well anyway, we decided that keep the timeout, if the ball falls short of the goalline you have time for a one second timeout and field goal and didnt want to get the defense to line up. we did not understand how that was a 10 second play. this is what goes on in his head during the game. this explains most things.
I honestly could care less what Miles has to say. Show me something for once instead of saying the right things.
What Les is saying is that Harris was supposed to take a quick snap and toss a quick pass into the end zone that should not have taken 10 seconds, leaving LSU a timeout to call with 2 or 3 seconds to kick a field goal. Interestingly, this was the same plan when Flynn threw that TD pass with one second left on the clock. Only Flynn had 18 seconds and took WAY too much time to call for the snap and almost cut it too close. Les must now understand that his quarterbacks aren't always comprehending the urgency and are not responding like NFL quarterbacks. Sometimes it may be better to just take the field goal and not try for the TD.
