apparently i missed something from being in the stadium. (yes i've finally seen lsu lose a game in person) was miles really running around yelling "i'm the head coach!"? what context was this in, what was happening in the game? maybe an assistant called a timeout that miles didn't approve of? either way, if so... man that kind of is an embarrassment.
I think he thought a player on the field called one...and while that is legal, maybe Les instated a team rule not to do it...or not to do it in certain circumstances.
Here's the video--you be the judge. http://youtube.com/watch?v=OXCmfW8JQ5E I think he was arguing he shouldn't be called for the sideline warning when he was standing on the 10. He seems to be saying to the referee not to confuse him with the assistant coaches. Not sure, because I was at the game as well and have not seen the entire context. As I said in another thread, I still don't know what the "Pelini poking Les out of his trance" comment is all about. GEAUX TIGERS
On a critical play Ark slipped Marcus Monk ( 6' 6" ) into the lineup and lined him up on the far left side. There was a total height mismatch and the camera showed Bo Pelini hollering at Les who was staring out onto the field, to call time out. Finally he jumped over and poked Les (apparently bringing him back to the moment at hand) and Les jumped onto the field frantically signalling time out. You could hear one of the broadcasters in the background saying to one of the others "where was Les Miles".
well if that's what it's about, yeah miles should not have been staring off into space but he was probably listening to someone in the booth. pellini is the defensive coordinator and it is his job to make sure the right personnel is in there. i don't know when this play was happening but yes, overall the arkansas game was us completely getting outcoached in virtually every phase of the game. in overtime the defense looked completely outclassed. that fourth and 10 they converted was completely on pellini. not because he didn't blitz, but because 1 second before the ball was snapped mccray was standing at the sideline waiting for pellini's instructions. the man that caught the conversion was mccray's man. this is why i have no problems with people wanting pellini to leave, because if there's somewhere for me to put immediate blame on it's him. *edit* i think it was mccray. i was in the south endzone so you know, my eyesight isn't the best ever.
