i hear ya. i just know that it won't change while he's coach here. unless, like MASTERMIND said, he has to prove that he's still in control, or it's a bowl-game. i honestly wouldn't mind consistent three or four loss seasons if we gunned it more. i just think that offense is more interesting than defense. 2001 was probably one of my favorite LSU teams. it's all fine and dandy winning tough defensive struggles, but it's more fun watching a lot of offense. plus it's a little more cardiac-friendly. :hihi:
Les plays his cards close to the vest especially against the average teams. this includes vandi and moo u. why? because he knows you cant go all-out for every game. although it almost cost him last week but didnt. now we will see what we have--good or bad. This team will be a different team than we've seen thus far. Its just a matter if they respond and/or handle the pressure. I wouldnt bet against him. This is when his teams are at their best.
Those are really good points. We have short term memory. We are all frustrated with him during the season. But if its a bowl game or a SECCG, we fall all over him because of the score. One thing we definitely know is that he knows how to prepare his team. I hope you are right about it being a different team this week, because if we lose, i will be taken a week of from TF, just because of the title of threads we will see.
i'm gonna hold you to this tirk lol. i personally think we're gonna play a whole heckuva lot better but i'd be absolute shocked if we passed for more than 55% of our plays.
my problem with this being all part of miles' plan is you do that when you're up comfortably and controlling the game. you don't do that when the game is in doubt, much less needing your spec teams and your defense to do some scoring (and have a goal line stand) to win. that speaks of someone with a HUGE ego and miles doesn't seem to fit that bill. it's like playing God in football.
i dont think he plans to play teams close. he just prepares differently for bigger games. thats evident in the results.
There's a big difference between running up the score and getting a comfortable lead. CLM may not usually want to run it up but I guarantee he always wants to get a comfortable lead (probably usually two to three TDs) as soon as possible. I got the sense from his comments last night that he is about to open up the offense a bit more with more passing. Also, he didn't say it directly last night, but reading between the lines it was obvious to me that he expected Shepard to get more touches in the games thus far because he expected to have comfortable leads. I also got the sense that is about to change - that is, Shepard will be used more. And, not just running the ball from the "Wildcat." Of course, that could be just wishful thinking on my part too!
There are a lot of us on that wavelength...Wishing and Hoping and maybe even praying a little. :geaux:
what actually happens in games and what fans think they see are two vastly different things. How many of you realize that on our only drive in the 4th quarter that didn't start inside the 3 yard line we threw the ball every play except for a scramble by JJ.
