I've said for a long time that the NCAA passes a rule that forbids coaches from leaving their contracts until its "over". They could do this if they wanted to, but like a playoff system, they're too dug in to their "comfort" zone to allow any change that would be beneficial to anyone other than themselves. I don't have a very high opinion of them (the NCAA) anyway!
I would say that he is gone. He is a Michigan man through and through. Played football there, graduated from there, met his wife there. He is going home. End of story.
If you've listened to his weekly press conferences, I can't imagine how you'd conclude anything other than he's gone if offered. He has basically left the offer on the table and given EVERY indication that he's still a Michigan man at heart and ZERO indication that LSU is important enough to him for him to stay past this season. I've listened to them all (at least the ones on LSUsports.net). There has been zero change, and actually his last couple have been less stringent on the "My family is very happy here" line. Stand by for a big coaching shift, folks....(if offered - I'm not totally convince, but almost there)
les/bo announced to the team thursday that they r taking the mich/neb jobs its done: the question is who replaces saban is in town & its mor than recruiting, his wife wants to move back but he has a huge buyout & thats why he was flown in by the big boosters to see if they could work the #'s: my guy is TT though better coach has done mor w less at aub
All these rumors have been discussed before. Bo is gone and so is Miles unless something dramatic happens. Reports about Saban in BR were reported to be false. He recruited NELA a few days ago. Saban will not be back nor do we want him. That would really hurt Saban's PR with recruits and the fan base. Saban and his wife miss LSU and will stay in Bama for the time being. TT is a rumor machine and he will not be coming here. He is most likely holding out any decisions about Auburn and Arky until the LSU job opens up and he can use it as leverage. I am still sticking with my original source and say Spurrier is our next coach should Miles leave.
you define dandydon homer...what championshipS have we won under "de-committed" Miles?
Agreed. I've previously predicted the same about Bo, Miles, and Saban. If Miles had been UM's primary candidate, then they would have retained Carr for the bowl game. IMO, UM has another candidate in mind altogether, but they'll make the wise decision and interview Miles, just to show everyone that they can. Besides, if it disrupts another nationally-prominent program in the process, then that's "all good" with Michigan ..... hell, that's straight out of the Bo Schembechler handbook. However, you're mistaken about Spurrier and Tuberville ..... neither are going anywhere, and it will be for the very same reason Miles stays put at LSU ....... "Never pass up a good thing" BTW, the Tuberville-thing will be resolved within the next couple of business days. The written addendums were distributed yesterday, they'll be reviewed and agreed to in-principle later today, and CTT has a meeting scheduled with President Gogue tomorrow.
