Crowton has even more credentials as a coordinator, including a winning record as a head coach already. LSU may not have to go far to find the right guy.
Is this what always happens to winning programs? They win a championship and then all their coaches get hired away? Sheesh. Just can't catch a break.
I remember hearing it on an LSU radio broadcast. Maybe a post game show, so take it for what it's worth. Miles may be willing to take a pay cut to coach his Alma Mater, so there are other considerations for Crowton I'm sure. Not every coach has the morals of Saban.
Sorry, but IMHO, LSU is bigger than one coach. I like Miles and I hope he stays here for a very long time. But if he goes,he goes. We'll find a good coach to replace him.
Doesn't anyone learn. Miles would go from fertile ground with green pastures and bright future to a let's rebuild and hope we can do it. He could be out on his can in 3 to 5 years at Michigan with his carreer shot or another Bear Bryant here (which Saban opted out of).
