Les Miles will never beat Nick Saban again, therefore LSU will never win the West

Hope and pray that Charlie Strong goes after the Miami job that everyone says he wants so bad. Then maybe Texas will go back to Saban and make another offer that he simply can't refuse. That's the only hope....................

Ah, the troll makes his annual appearance after a loss. Makes an ass of himself and disappears.

Ben Miles is a junior in high school. Miles wants Ben to play at LSU. Miles will coach until Ben graduates. Can you stand five more seasons after this one? That's how many I think Miles will coach.

I have listened to parts of a few Catholic High games. Ben Miles seems like an OK player but not one who would rate a scholly to a D1 Power 5 school like LSU. Unless his Daddy pays his tuition and he is satisfied to practice and then stand in the sidelines for games where everybody is allowed to dress he would be better off going to an FCS school where he could actually play.

I am not advocating for Miles to go or stay with this at all in any way and I am not singling you out halloween this is just the post I quoted as it pertains to topic......but this thought has always confused me....the whole idea of wanting a guaranteed replacement for any coach that leaves or is fired or whatever. Back before Saban came to LSU who was running around screaming we want Saban? I do not recall it in fact I recall a lot criticism for the hire. Saban at Toledo was 9-2(not bad for that program I guess) and was only 34-24 at Michigan state. Not exactly eye popping guaranteed winner numbers. It was not until LSU that that he went 48-16 and started to become a household name. Same for Miles.....who was screaming we want Miles when sabain left? Not to many and again all I remember is criticism of the hire and now he is 110-30 at LSU. Seems to me maybe LSU made those 2 coaches not the other way around. Of course there are numerous not so successful coaches in LSU's past as well but to think that changing coaches would instantly put LSU off the map just doesnt seem rational when the last 2 coaches didnt do much of anything before coming to LSU. Again I am not saying he should stay or go but the fear of who can replace him will never be a reason not to try to improve if that is what needs to be done.

At the time Miles was hired all I knew about him was that I had seen Okie State have a huge halftime lead against Texas and blow it. And that Ohio State had given his team a beatdown in his last bowl game there.

LSU has NEVER hired any head coach who was a household name other than Bill Arnsparger. And Arnsparger's rep was as the architect of the Dolphins No Name Defense, not as a head coach.

Miles is not going to be fired. With his record he shouldn't be. But something needs to be done to get him to change his offensive philosophy at least when it comes to playing against Alabama. How many of us would be so lucky to keep our jobs if we made the same mistake over and over and over in the most important aspect of our jobs? Even if we did a good job with the lesser tasks? Does Joe Alleva have any say about it? Does he have the balls to have a talk with Les and lay down the law, .ie, give Cam the full authority to run the offense without interference or hire someone else who can adapt and adjust to changing situations. If Alleva can't do it maybe some of the fat cats on the Board of Supervisors should step up and do it.

I would imagine that Miles would pay Ben's tuition and not use a scholarship? I once read that Ben's ambition is to become a football coach; I'm not sure he has designs on a pro career.
