I read the report from yesterday's presser. CLM must have said "quality" about 100 times ... quality players, quality opponent, quality coach ... Too funny! :crystal: :geaux: :crystal: :geaux: :crystal:
My thoughts exactly....my dad is a longhorn alumn and is always calling Miles out for "saying too much"....And I always call BS on that...he's saying what we are all thinking and we finally have a coach just like us.....Most of the time we watch what we say and maintain that PC front...but sometimes, when you've had enough the verbal vomit comith...I love him for it....to not give a rats azz what other people think is a truely wonderful thing!!!:thumb:
Just compare CLM in press conferences to RR when he lost to Pitt. I've never seen a performance from a coach like the one RR put on after that game--I thought he was going to have a breakdown the way he was mumbling to himself and about to cry. I am proud that Les Miles is not glib like Petrino and not a whipped puppy like RR. He is supposed to be a coach, not a politician.:milesmic: :geaux:
Or when LSU beat Fla. (I think 2005) and Myer cried like a baby...I mean come on...get mad...throw something....but be a man for God's sake...At least Miles doesn't look like a big ole pansy...even when he got teary talking about LSU, it was a manly teary...not girly tears, no sir:rofl:
Here's a link to an article that should provide a virtual buffet of Miles quotes/sayings. He was in rare form here. http://www.lsubeat.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20071218/SPORTS0202/712180320 Enjoy!
Why you low balling that? I'd say the week of the LSU/Florida game is worth about 10 quotes alone... Fish, thanks for that link! Those qutoes are great! "I agreed that he could call the entire defense, call every play," Miles, obviously in a playful mood, said. "I also agreed that we would be ahead at the end of the game." snip "We've agreed that he will not wear an 'N' on his cap when he coaches on the sidelines." snip Told about some of the names surfacing for the West Virginia job, Miles said, "Should I come clean now (and say his name is in the hat)? Or should I wait? I think I'll hold back. I don't want to be too obvious."
Yeah, that was a great one. He said: "I'm awfully proud of my football team. My football team, I'll take them around and play any sucker in this country. I like this team..."
http://www.lsubeat.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20071218/SPORTS0202/712180320 to see him so at ease and happy is nice. especially after all the stress he and those around him have probably been through the past few weeks.
