LA may just have to do some annexing to get back that former capital ... FYI, If no chickens are harmed in the process, it aint a real Mardi Gras :thumb:.
Bacchus, huh? Hmmmmm....."Mr. Hogan, meet Mr. Dorsey. Easy Glenn, don't hurt him." (so we're all on the same page, Hulk Hogan is King of Bacchus this year)
Ok to many thing to quote....so here we geaux... Okie/OT/and anyone else that want one..I WILL TRY!!! Podkatt forcast have the weather being Sunny and 70s for both Saturday and Sunday! To the Gump Yes it is true that Mobile did in fact HOLD THE 1st parade HOWEVER it was held on New Years Eve!!! The celebration of Mardi Gras started however long long ok when the Catholic church was coverting pagans to christianity and they wanted to make the transation alittle easier so they allowed them to keep their parties before the season of Lent!! So while Moblie did have the idea of parading first, WE SHOWED YOU WHAT DAY TO HAVE IT ON!!!!:thumb: And this is not the 1st time for LSU to lead Rex, in 04 The band lead Rex and it was UNBELIEVEABLE!!!! We stand in front Igors on St Charles and the band just happened to stop right in front of us. After being stopped for about 10 min they all put down their instruments and were just standing around! So quick thinking I grabbed my ice chest radio climbed on top of a ladder and started blasting Pregame, THEY WENT APESH!T, I followed it with Hey Fighting Tiger and Hey Baby and they sand every word and seemed to love every minute of it!!!
Don't worry about everybody else...me,okie, and luvinles! That should do it! (oh and don't tell the other girls but worry about the first person on MY list before all )
No, Mobile's started as a prelude to Ash Wednesday. (edit: the carnival was on New Years, so I guess you are kind of right -- I guess it is a trie since it was Mobilians that started the tradition of Fat Tuesday in new Orleans) And I think we can each agree New Orleans has done a decent job with it.
Kind of right, I am right the krewe paraded on New Years Eve! And yes it was former memebers of Mobilians that formed Comus and forever changed New Orleans!
