Coach Miles, We love you here in Tiger Nation and you are our Head Coach, we have entrusted in you our program to take and stay at heights we can only dream off, but you have to trust yourself and the people you have hired. You played the National Championship game like you were playing afraid to lose the game, not playing to win the game!!! That is the absolute best analogy I can give you. You sign top 5 recruiting classes every year, you have to trust those kids to do what you brought them in to do. Russell Shepard was as talented a recruit as you can get, if he leaves the school with a career like he has had so far at LSU then I am sorry to say you have failed both him and the school, not the other way around. You get great recruits but you have to let them do what they do. You let John Chavis run his defense the way he wants to because you trust him not to let you down and look what he has done with that defense. You have to find the same person on offense and let them do the same thing, trust them to get you where we need to be. If Coach Stud is the guy, then you have to let him sink or swim but you can't do what you have been doing - in these games Ark, Ga and Bama "both games" you played not to lose on offense, instead of playing to WIN. You can't do that because it will eventually come back to bite you in your ass which it did!!! We have great offensive skill guys you have to let them do what you bring them to LSU to do, let them play to win. Stop letting them play not to lose!!!! You have to let the coaches do their jobs and if they fail then find someone who will not, but the only one who can mess this up now is YOU!!! Either you don't have the personnel in place to get you where you want to be, and if that is the case then get that personnel before it cost you your job. Or you have the personnel in place and you will not let them do their job which again will end up costing your job in the long run because they will leave. Either way the only one who can screw this UP is you if you don't get out of your own way!!! We are love you here in Tiger Nation but that does not mean you can't improve, you can. Sorry sometimes the truth hurts, but it does not make it any less the truth. I just want you to be as successful as possible that is all. :geauxtige:geauxtige:geauxtige
I bet every team in the country, other than maybe a handful, would love to have Miles as their coach.
Every team in the country, other than a handful, will never see the BCS NC! This is a lame excuse. There is no excuse for the lack of coaching, the lack of adapting, the stubborness, the entitlement. There was no excuse for embarrasing his team like he did. I swear ... that game looked like it was paid off .. that CLM threw the game on purpose. That's how bad it looked.
SonnyLoco - you are Loco!! I did not say "Fire Coach Miles" matter of fact in the thread that was started that said that, if you look I called that guy an idiot which he is!!! All I am saying is "and there are a whole lot of people that agree" Miles has to hire the right offensive minds "and if he has" then let them do their job!!!! Look at what we did our last 3 games offensively and you have to understand Miles was not playing to win, he was playing not to lose. And I don't think that is the OC's mindset. I truly believe there was a lot of truth to what Crowton said about "the LSU offense" was not his offense!!!! Think about that guys, I am not saying Crowton was not bitter, he was, but that does not mean what he said was not the TRUTH. I personally feel Miles is such a Michigan man he is afraid to spread it out and let our skill guys do their thing. I personally feel he is so afraid to lose that he micro manages the offense so much that he gets in his own way. But by no means do I want to fire Miles, I don't I just want to help him get better and sometimes that means HAVING CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM !!!!! :geauxtige:LSU231::geauxtige
I didn't say that you said fire Les. Just trying to bring some perspective that I think Les is still a very good coach. I actually liked your post by the way...didn't mean to aggrivate you with my opinion that I still think he is a very capable coach that a lot of teams would take in a heartbeat. :thumb:
It was bad wasn't it. Coaches have bad games. Players have bad games. Great QB's throw interceptions. It hurts when it happens to our team. The loss hurt. It hurt bad. I am usually not a "sunshine pumper"...but I also tend to not let the pendelum swing too far in any one direction. Just trying to balance things out.
Yeah .. it was bad. Of course ... nobody lost out more that CLM. Something about raising his salary to equal the top in CFB is he won the NC. Oh Well .. guess next year. Everyone is entitled to a bad game .. a bad day. We'll see how it goes next year .. because we all know that Mett is a great potential. If McCarron could do what he did last monday, Mett could easily to more. .. but he can only do more if CLM allows him to do more.
Agree with the original post. Les needs to be a head coach and get the hell out of the offense. Here we are a year removed from Gary Crowton and ever since JJ has taken over with the exception of the Ole Miss game it's like the same old offense. Miles needs to take his hands off the offense.
SonnyLoco - my bad after I re-read your post and got your explanation it makes sense and you are right a lot of programs would love Miles and take the bad with the good with him. What people don't get is if you are going to fire a person that means you have to replace him with someone better. CLM is arguably one of the top 5 coaches "if you had up on the tangibles, recruiting, motivating, family man etc.... along with coaching" in the county. So if you are going to let someone in the top 5 go you have to hire someone in the top 2, that is not possible. So we should be very happy with who we have we just have to help him understand how he can get better "which I personally don't think that will happen" Read Guilbeau's article on the subject he is spot on in regards with CLM. Unfortunately I think CLM is smelling his own air so much so he is too stubborn to change, until he absolutely is forced to. And going 13-0 doesn't help you understand too much that their are things you need to do to improve.
Let me get this straight...you want to fire the OC of a team that just won the SEC and went 13-1? WTF!:insane:
