In recruiting news, Les Miles and six other LSU coaches were on the recruiting trail Sunday night and Monday. According to my number one recruiting source, Les Miles and Jimbo Fisher made an in-home visit with Chad Jones and his parents Sunday night. Jones has narrowed his choices to LSU and Miami and the coaching change at Miami will surly help LSU. The biggest hurdle for LSU might be pro baseball. Jones is a great centerfielder prospect and is also a great pitcher prospect. I believe we will see Jones playing football and baseball at LSU in 2007. Also, Sunday night Brad Peveto and Larry Porter were in Memphis, Tennessee, visiting with linebacker Chris Walker who has narrowed his choices to LSU, Tennessee and Memphis. I give LSU a slight lead over Tennessee for Walker. Coach Les Miles and offensive line coach Stacy Searles spent the day in North Louisiana, mostly at West Monroe and Monroe. I was also told that the two coaches stopped at Rayville and Bastrop, but I cannot confirm the information. LSU is recruiting Will Blackwell, Luther Davis and cornerback Terry Carter from West Monroe. Blackwell and Davis are national recruits and Carter is being recruited by several SEC schools including Arkansas who has offered the speedy cornerback. Running back coaches Larry Porter and Josh Henson made stops at three schools in New Orleans, according to my information. Porter and Henson made stops at John Curtis, John Ehret and O.P. Walker. Defensive line coach Earl Evans was in Florida recruiting and Todd Monkens was in the Dallas area recruiting. http://www.dfw.com/mld/dfw/sports/16102375.htm Reader comments: The Fort Worth Star-Telegram ran a big article Sunday about the Elite 11 football prospects in Texas. Article includes Jarrett Lee (the Brenham QB committed to LSU), Ron Brooks (WR – Irving) who is considering LSU, Christian Scott (DB – Dallas), and Terrence Toliver (WR – Hempstead). You’ll like this question and response from Jarrett Lee: What's the craziest thing that happened to you in recruiting? "I (Jarrett Lee) went down to an LSU day game against Mississippi State. We got out there early in the morning, and I saw all those tailgaters. I haven't seen anything like that before. People told me what to expect, but unless you've been there, it's hard to describe it." You can read the whole article here. All from DandyDon this morning.
Ok, if LSU lands all those guys, we will finish either #1 or #2. If we go to the Rose and represent, I think we will land every one of them and maybe a surprise or 2 as well.
Damn. We got islstl as the BCS God, I guess you're the recruiting guru. Good job. Keep us informed.:thumb:
Cparso definetly is the chosen one on recruiting, I rarely ever see him post in the DEN. Great job, I always enjoyLSU!
Nevis was just on Louisiana recruiting magazine with his coach and listed his choices as LSU, Auburn and Ole miss. He didn't say who his favorite was but he listed them in that order. Then the host asked if he was wide open on where he was going to go and he said yes wide open so I wouldn't list him as an ole miss commit although most recruiting services do.
On Rivals I just noticed DT Joseph Barksdale, the #1 player from Michigan whois visiting LSU. Rivals lists LSU and Ohio State as his favorites. Seems like this guy came out of nowhere but does anyone know if we really could get this guy?
