 This week Coach Les Miles and his coaching staff will be hitting the road recruiting and making in-home visits with prospects in Louisiana and neighboring states. LSU is off to a fast start in recruiting and playing in a New Year's Day bowl cannot do anything but help. LSU has roughly 10-12 scholarships remaining to give. I would like to see LSU finish this recruiting class by signing Joe McKnight, Steffon Francois, Chad Jones, Will Blackwell, Luther Davis, Josh Peters, Rolando Melancon, Drake Nevis, Terrance Tolliver, one more offensive lineman and an outstanding cornerback. -Dandy Don
*Jason Peters. We'll likely get all of those guys. I'm not sure what the deal with Rolando is though. We've got one DT commit, but he'll be converted to Oline likely. Plus Blackwell (who would possibly play both DE & DT at first like RJF) & Drake - both of whom I think the coaches are higher on.
The one offensive lineman will likely be Rishaw Johnson, although the coaching staff is visiting with a 5 star from TX this week so maybe something could happen.
CB/SS Christian Scott from dallas will be visiting LSU this weekend...not sure if anyone else will be with him...if Delvin Breaux is truly done with football this could be a big pick up.
Isnt Nevis an Ole Miss commit? Im confident we will get Peters, Francois, Jones, and Tolliver. Im still not too sure about McKnight. I think Melancon is leaning towards Arkansas. I have a feeling Blackwell will go to ND, while Davis is high on Louisville.
The staff is meeting with Delvin this week. Supposedly he may be able to play next year. It remains a bit of a mistery how serious the injury was. I really like Christian Scott & think he'd be a very big pickup for us. Distance may be a factor though.
Nevis & Rishaw Johnson (the Oline I mentioned earlier) are both Ole Miss commits. I don't think Blackwell will go to ND. It is important for his family to be able to see him play. It is an hour or 2 to NO for the airport, plus a 2 hour flight & then another hour drive for them to be able to go to ND to see him. Davis is playing the recruiting game. He's all LSU.
Thats good man, I hope you are right. I think Blackwell could be a real stud tackle to go along side Woods and Favorite once Dorsey moves on.
