This is the first time Les has NOT said the Lee would be the starter. I think its a huge mistake to bench Lee for one bad game. But Jefferson is going to start again.

I hope so, but you know Jefferson is going to get a start before the season is over.

I want to see against WKU Saturday, Mett get the entire second half.

LSU has never been one to run up the score, and be sexy. This kid could use some PT before seasons end, we will be losing both JJ and JL (Thank God) next year, and returning a national championship caliber roster at every position.

    Mett to play!!!!

IMO ..you would be ABSOLUTELY correct. Relegating Lee back to where he was last year could cost us the SEC CG and the NC game.

JJ was "better" against bama, but he was not "good". We only scored 3 offensive points against Bama off a drive, the other 6 points were the result of good FP off the interception and OT.

IMO .. the combination of Lee start/JJ relieve is a higher scoring combo than JJ start/Lee relieve. And we are going to need points against AR.

AR's offense is higher octane than either LSU's or Bama's. AR scored 14 points on Bama, without a run game. D. Johnson is starting to find his feet, which adds at least 3-7 points to that. We are goint to have to be able to score at least 23 or more points on AR, if we plan on winning out.

If we get in a scorefest with AR, we are going to need the higher scoring potential of JLee. Bama only put up 23 offensive points on AR, the other 14 were a pick6 and return. .. and that was without Bequette in the game for AR defense.

CLM needs to be carefull of how he plays to the strengths of his offense in the AR game. Being too conservative [JJ] could keep AR in the game. .. and their offense is dangerous. JL needs to regain his confidence and come back out hot.

Lee had a bad game, luckily for him, he has 2 games to get his sh!t together before Arkansas, and JJ has two games to prove dominance if he wants the start.

Things are looking GOOD for us, not BAD

OH yeah .. I think things are looking GOOD for us.

I agree, JLee had a bad game. More so, I think the game plan for Lee was pretty poor. Stud/Krags should've loosened up the coverage a bit with some shorter passes. Back off the LBs, hit some quick slants, or 10 yard curls. Some RB screens in the flats. Poor ol RR .. I dont' think he saw a pass all night. There ya had Randle, the talest fricken guy on the field, and yet, no pass plays designed and thrown so he could jump up and bring it down.

I'm sure that CLM will let Lee get his legs back. But what I was referring to, was that if CLM DOESN"T let Lee get his legs back, then in your scenario .... JJ doesn't outcompete Lee ... JJ gets the job by default because Lee has fallen so far. IMO, that is not a recipe for success.

But ... like I said on West Kentucky thread .. I'd like to see JJ air it out a bit. I want to see the improvement in his passing game. It's like you said a while ago ... we don't know just how good JJ "could" be now. For sure, the Bama game was no indication. Both Lee and JJ pretty much sucked, but as I noted, Bama's Defense had a whole lot to do with that.

    Well said!

Do any of you get the feeling that JL's play has been regressing slowly ever since JJ came back? I get the feeling he is looking over his shoulder, waiting to make a mistake, knowing that JJ is about to come in. Against Bama, he had pure tunnel vision - he had no idea that the safeties dropped back when the ball was snapped on his 2 INTs. I just wonder where his confidence level is, even before this game. I also liked the way Ware went to JL after the first interception and was encouraging him. I really like seeing the team supporting both guys.

At the end of the first half against bama, did anyone notice that on JJ's throw to the endzone, he pumped the ball once. I think that was because an LSU guy ran into Randle (I think it was Landry) when he started his break inside. IThe bump threw off the timing of the route, which is why Jordon couldnt let it go the first time. Randle had that guy beat if the collision doesnt happen. Thats why Randle was shaking his head when the play was over. That was almost a sure TD. Hated we didnt punch it in on that drive.
