LSU Tigers' Les Miles sticking with 2-QB system for rest of season - ESPN Pretty simple formula. Both QBs will play, one will play more against particular teams in which his talents are better suited to be effective.
I got it and understand 100% He will play to the strength of the team understanding the strength of each QB.
That's fine... Just start JL a long as we can control the line of scrimmage, please. ;-) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Makes the most sense going forward. We should trust CLM to do what is necessary to remain successful. :geauxtige
Is it just me or does anyone else see this. We have the jl/ ware conventional offense with a pounding, between the tackles rushing attack and a jj/ford option outside rushing attack with both qb's playing play action where jl throws a little more. Two completely diffrent offenses to choose from depending on the need. Now here is a question. Does miles do the same next year. We have mett to take jl's place. We have Randall ( I think that's his name. Not for sure. The kid that came from the ducks that ran the practice squad for that games prep) to take jj's place. Does miles continue to use two qb's next year and is it the right call?
I think that all depends on how Randall develops. Mett right now is the clear starter but Randall could be the change of pace QB and suspect he'll get put in games at least sparingly. My guess is it won't be at the rate JJ has been played.
Seems like the fans are the only ones concerned. Miles and the team seem to support who ever plays. It also seems that they like BOTH qbs to play and lead the team in their own special way. Good for them. Maybe thats why they have been so successful.:thumb:
And the team is behind whoever is in the game. I think it's appropriate that both guys lead us to a perfect season and national championship. They have both been to hell and back and both deserve to reap the fruits of their labor. They will both forever be remembered in LSU lore.
Call me crazy, but if we face that Bama defense again, I say we need a deep pass threat. 1) JL - gives us great leadership and should start every game. But he cannot give us the run option nor will he stand in the pocket and allow the receivers to go deep. 2) JJ - provides a great run option but lacks the ability to patiently wait for the receivers to get deep. 3) Mett - would be a viable deep ball threat who can stand in the pocket and deliver a deep pass pretty accurately. I think Mett should be looked at for this option just like we look to JJ for his legs. Again this is ONLY IF WE HAVE TO FACE BAMA AGAIN. If we don't face Bama again, I say we go 75% Lee and 25% JJ. Mett should only come in this year if we can sustain a 3 touchdown lead in the next 5 games.
