You're right, except for the lack of a hire, after Bo left for Nebraska. His thought process was with good intentions, having dual DC's. But not having Bo here to call the right plays, at the right time, was a oversight. One I doubt he'll ever make again.

Coach O would have to take a massive pay cut to come here. 500K is being reported as his salary with New Orleans, from a family member that posts here. Is he gonna take a 300K paycut? Hell no. That part of the equation is over. He is holding the Saints for ransom at this point. Good for him. That's how capitalism works in America.
Let's not sugargoat the massive epic phuckup of a promotion that went to Mallory and Peveto. That's on Coach Miles. Good intentions or not, we're not here to make friends. I can finally breathe a sigh of relief after we got the guy we really wants. Chavis is gonna help us step our game up. I like Mallory and Peveto in the positions they had originally taken, but they are no DC's. This is the best news for LSU fans in a long time.
John Chavis is reported to be the next DC at LSU, the other names are rumored to be joining the LSU staff...nothing is set in stone. We will know more after the bowl game.
