Not that I know the psyche of CLM or what lurks in the dark recesses of his mind, but I wouldn't leave LSU. I know Michigan's his Alma Mater, but it's a troubled program. The losing seasons are one thing, and if he went, it would take at least two seasons to turn that around. Plus, they're under investigations now, which results in sanctions. No bowl games, nothing to work for at the end of the season. I know that I don't know everything, but it seems like the last few teams I've seen with sanctions against them might have got winning seasons, but they never were considered great while on probation. Plus, he has every reason to stay here. He's the head coach of a respected program that has won two :crystal: in the last ten years. He can recruit however he wants. And, with five years, he's well established in the area. I think that the only way he leaves is retirement or termination :miles:
Problems at Michigan are coming to a boil! Les could There is lots of smoke and now that I see big money concerns with the new suites oh my!! Don't want to see Les go!! :miles: Boren, the son of the former Wolverine player Mike Boren, said in an e-mail message to reporters at the time: “Michigan football was a family built on mutual respect and support. Those family values have eroded.” Boren was unavailable for interviews this week. At Michigan, Martin and Mary Sue Coleman, the university’s president, did not respond to requests for comment about the issues surrounding the program. “I don’t think it’s very appropriate to talk now, because of the N.C.A.A.,” said Olivia P. Maynard, one of Michigan’s eight-member Board of Regents, who was reached by telephone. “Think of it from the university’s perspective. There’s all kinds of stuff going on. It doesn’t help to have a thousand voices speaking at the same time.” More than 100,000 voices will fill Michigan Stadium on Saturday beneath two towers of luxury boxes and club seats that are rising behind the old grandstands. The plush sections will open next season. Opposed by some traditionalists, they will accommodate 16 persons apiece in 82 suites in addition to 3,000 club seats. The top price for a suite is $85,000 annually. Joe Parker, Michigan’s senior associate athletic director, said by telephone that the university has commitments for 55 of the 82 suites and for 2,300 of the 3,000 club seats, which are being added in a $226 million expansion. Parker added that “no one has paid in full,” and that the money is not due until Jan. 31, 2010.
money is always a issue!! they are digging!! they lose to OSU and just watch what happens!!! :milesmic: If we’re not in a bowl game, we’re all gonna be ticked,” Rodriguez said in the corner outside the Hyatt ballroom that day. “If we’re not competing better in every game, we’re all gonna be upset. Not talking about the fans, but us.” Rodriguez has looked positively seething lately. He’s figuratively backed into a corner entering Saturday against archrival Ohio State (noon, ABC-TV). There are the real estate dealings. There is an NCAA investigation - the latest piece this week coming in the form of practice logs not turned in to Michigan compliance officers, something Rodriguez said was done immediately when he was notified they were missing. And there is the losing, six straight in the Big Ten dating back to September. Michigan hasn’t beaten a FBS opponent since Sept. 26. It’s opened up critics and allowed embattled to almost become his first name. One of the knocks on Rodriguez is that he’s an outsider at Michigan. It was something that has followed the West Virginia native from when he had a “Beat Ohio State” button given to him before he was introduced as the head coach.
picked this off the Migh forum! read this and think about who might be calling Les already!!! :milesmic: General Bo's legend stands on it's own merit. RR has given all of us true Michgan fans a new appreciation for the man from Ohio who built The Big House. Bo always had the right words to express the importance of football at Michigan. He is the benchmark for our tradition. As I reflect on the 50 plus years I have personally witnessed The Maize & Blue represent the tradition; I have never been so disappointed in the weak words of enthusiasm expressed by The Head Coach. How on earth did RR ever become the selected leader for Michigan Football?
For those who secretly and not so secretly want Miles gone, look at what happened to Michigan after the Lloyd Carr haters got their way.
Same thing as us for 20+ yrs after Cholly Mac. I have said it before, that if Miles goes it will be because he never felt truly appreciated for his commitment to LSU, his blood, sweat, and tears. The man loves it here, is a perfect fit for the Tigers, and yet there is still a faction of LSU fans that would want to see him gone. For the life of me I don't know why.:milesmic:
Speaking of Mrs. Miles.... when can we get a new Miles' family picture in the LSU gameday program? I'm tired of looking at that picture of her every home game. My only guess is that she can cook.
