I think this puts down the myth of the 'Michigan Man'. Michigan needs to stop being so arrogant and just go after the best coach available instead of looking for one of their own. Their fans are cocky too. I'm in Toledo, OH (35 miles from Ann Arbor) right now and all my Michigan friends keep telling me that they're gonna take our coach. Well, they can suck it cause no one wants to jump on that sinking ship.

Regardless how anyone feels about Miles, you can rest assured the cupboard out there is pretty bare.

There is no way this BOS and Alleva were going to make a good hire. First, they are incompetent. Second, no one remaining is more qualified. Third, many of the top TAF members never cared for miles and would cut off their nose to spite their face. They still wanted him gone despite whats best for LSU.

I think we dodged a nuclear meltdown by retaining Les. The alternatives were scary and the foundation of LSU Athletics was on shaky ground. Continuity and stability are good things.

UF had to hire Muschamp for god's sake.

one of these days you will have a want to be happy.

They have a monopoly - they don't have to be good at what they do.

You should get a ziplock and go outside and pull some grass up, and put it in the ziplock and walk into where all your michigan buddies hang out and just smile and chew on some grass....

I wouldn't go that far. Many coaches have great loyalty to their alma mater. However not many coaches have as great a gig as Miles does. Coaches dream of 6 year stretches like Miles has had. That's hard to leave behind, even for a Michigan man. Plus Michigan's arrogance has put their program in the toilet. Whoever takes the job has a rebuilding project on their hands. Hard to park your Benz to take a ride in a Yugo even if you love the overrated piece of crap.

Sheww... this is amazing news. I am an LSU fan from WV and I was on here reading all night long, hoping there would be some good insight, and there was. I was really trying to rack my brain on who could sucessfully replace Miles (even though from time to time he can have his own quirks). No one out there really seemed like a good fit for the program. HAIL LSU!

I went to the scouts Michigan board and they are in complete total nuclear holocaust. They are way beyond meltdown and want to hang Brandon. What's a damn shame is I have seen post ( on td mostly) that were almost as bad. We are lucky. We have a coach that competes with the best of them. We have a coach who is willing to give this program stability for years along with exiciting and successful seasons. We may have hit jackpot with a new coach or we could have been another Tennessee. We have a coach that's a lil querky but he is a football genius. Only a genus can go head to head with saban , cum, stoops, and all the rest of the nations top coaches and win as much as he does. We may have our joepa and be a dynasty powerhouse program for another decade. Just as the 90's were for skip and baseball the next decade will be for les miles and lsu football.
