And the topic was... From The Detroit News: Les Miles says his LSU job is too good to leave | detnews.com | The Detroit News
Welcome. Watched the movie 'Blindside" recently and was struck by how all the coaches appearing in it are now gone. Let's hope Les is indeed our JoePa.
:geaux: Interesting read. According to this, Michigan AD Brandon said he never offered to the job to either Harbaugh or Miles. Guess he just flew around the country and burned up a lot of jet fuel for the fun of it. Or maybe he just doesn't want to admit that two big time coaches said "NO" to his job offer. :geaux: This one's pretty good too. You can vote as to if LSU will win another NC with Les, rank the coaches in the SEC (Les is 2nd to Saban right now), and which is the better job between LSU & Michigan. LSU ahead 60% to 40% right now! :thumb: :LSU231: Who wins with Les Miles staying at LSU? - SportsNation - ESPN
LSU is just a better fit Having watched Les jumpstart My Oklahoma State program into a legitimate threat, and do what nobody believed was possible it's been great watching the guy continue to build upon the great LSU legacy. Les is a great example of what someone with sincere confidence can accomplish, taking over for and now outdoing Saban. When he left us I was curious to see what would happen if he had the chance to coach superior athletes, in an environment where winning was the only option. He's created the perfect place for his personality, and style of coaching. In other words he's made LSU his final destination, and college football is better for this. Eventhough he had played at Michigan, and coached at Michigan it never seemed like a good fit after watching him grow into the Tiger's Head Coach. Yes the guy's brash, and can gamble with the best of them, which just doesn't seem to fit a boring big ten program. Who can stomach hearing Michigan people talk about the "Michigan Man" complex one more second? Les is an "LSU Man", it's as if he was born to coach that team, and his picking LSU over Michigan doesn't surprise me at all. If He didn't take their job now, I don't see him leaving until You all decide You've had enough of the Hatter. Once again in telling his Alma Mater no thanks, Les has proved that He's about making his own mark in life his own way. Unlike so many phony coaches out there, he realizes the grass isn't always greener somewhere else.
This is great for LSU and I look forward to CLM leading the Tigers in the 2011 season :milesmic::milesmic:
