One of the talking heads said it was a "reverse Woody Hayes" thing. Woody would wear short sleeves even when the weather was freezing. I don't remember that but I remember seeing John Madden wearing short sleeves when the Raiders played at Denver and there was snow on the ground.

It's where he hides the stop watch.

This is the most admirable aspect of his character. How he accepts those he encounters, embracing his neighbor and molds youth into contributors to this earth, he has demonstrated the rightfull consideration for honorary coonass. Hope that in the end, he and his family would remain in the area.

I think it's impossible not to admire the man, Les Miles. And that's why, even with his gaffes, I am very happy with him as our coach. (And ALL coaches have gaffes; we notice Miles' more because we, of course, pay closer attention to LSU football, so we notice everything.)

Everybody notices Miles quirks. Did you see the pregame show where they were trying samples of different strains of grass. They had zoysa, Bermuda, Blue Grass and Centipede and they were sampling each.

Quirks, yes. He is quirky (and so are Cajuns, so I don't know why so many of them don't love the goofball that Miles is.) He's a crazy uncle; in fact, I predict he'll take over for Corso on Gameday after he's done at LSU.

The gaffes are something that happens to every coach and team. Yes, he makes mistakes. So do all of the coaches. Maybe his quirkiness makes it seem like he makes more mistakes than other coaches, but his record would have to prove otherwise.

His conservative offensive philosophy gets to me at times. I think that's his Big 10 background and Bo influence. I can live with it as long as we keep putting up Ws. And as everyone else has said we can't have anyone better represent LSU. Les defines class.
And that pregame feature on the different grasses was funny. And also a great idea to have Les replace Corso when he hangs it up.

I don't think Les will go into broadcasting. He may know a lot but he is not much of a communicator.

When he wants to communicate, he does just fine. Remember the "have a great day" speech? Was there any doubt as to his intent and message that day?

    He'd be hilarious on Gameday.

I would not have a problem with his appointment to AD.
