I like last year after the Fla loss, many were saying that we had no chance against USCE, remember after the Fla game we had lost Hurst and Williford. Clowney was to have his best game ever. An the next game, a&m, another we couldn't win.
So thats it? Farming equipment is the best you can do? Alright its a bet. Not sure what the hell I will do with a damn bush hog, I don't have enough grass for the push mower that I have.
Read this from Dandy Don for a sane perspective on last week and the future http://www.dandydon.com/Scott_Long_and_Mike_Detillier_Talk_Shop_October_22_2013.php
This is 100% truth and why I am pissed at Miles. "Mike: It was a ridiculous decision. Hill is not a fumbler. Could you imagine Mark Richt sitting Todd Gurley if he fumbled once. It doesn't make any sense. In this game Jeremy Hill should have rushed the ball 30 to 32 times against a Rebel defense with no depth and six starters out. If there is an issue with Hill and Frank Wilson and Miles, I don’t know, but a coach to hired to win games and Jeremy Hill is the 2nd best running back in the SEC behind Gurley and LSU’s offensive line is a huge plus this year. It doesn't matter if it's the first carry or the tenth carry, a running back will fumble the ball at times, but you can't punish the entire team for one mistake and again Jeremy Hill has no history of fumbling the ball. Run him hard in this game and then rest him against Furman. I don't get it, and I don’t buy the explanation or what was said afterwards. There is something else behind the scenes with this pull of a star player."
"And to be honest, LSU won’t say it and I would not either, but it is obvious that Zach Mettenberger has a lower leg issue. I don’t know if it’s a shin or knee injury, but I can tell with his follow-through and delivery he is off balance and he is not putting a lot of weight on that leg." " If any of the freshman were really standouts, John Chavis would be playing them. It is not just an LSU issue, it is a college football and pro football issue of not having enough "skilled" people to rush the quarterback at defensive end and outside linebacker. And these spread offenses and read-option schemes are changing what teams have to recruit upfront and in the back seven. Get use to it."
Fair enough. But LSU RBs have a reputation for not putting the ball on the ground. Just like we call Miles' teams undisciplined all the time, this has to be an area of emphasis, and something that is simply not tolerated. So, it's discipline--fans want to see that, but when they do?
I could see it if Hill had a history of fumbling, but he doesn't. So he's being 'disciplined' for the one time he does? Not a very good precedent or way to proceed IMO. That's not discipline. It's not very smart coaching.
