And this thread wasn't about losing to Ole Miss. It's about a grown man making nearly 4 1/2 million dollars a year who cannot make a simple decision like calling timeout with 28 seconds left on the clock. When there are people that couldn't draw up a single football play on a chalkboard screaming for Les Miles to call a timeout in that situation. If that doesn't bother you, then nothing ever will.
LaSalle! You seem to have breathed new life into this thread! Your post was on page 23; here we are on page 48....LOL.
Somebody help me out here. So obviously Les Miles has a headset which allows him to communicates with his OC and DC. I can't say for sure if Les had the headset on when Ole Miss ran their last play, but assuming he did, wouldn't Cam Cameron be conveying to Les Miles to call timeout to give his offense a chance at going down the field to kick a game tying FG? If someone knows if Les had his headset on or off, please chime in.
Les already said that his coaches were asking him to call time out. He took the blame. Explained that he was trying to set up a blocked field goal and go to overtime. Admitted that it was a bad decision. 24-hour rule. Time to move on. Geez.
Les said in his presser that he used the time out to "ice and block" the field goal. He said it was a mistake because they made the field goal and he should have done it different.
Sorry for being out of the loop on that one. Geez, I really was 100 % spot on with this thread title. That's sickening. From this point forward, this game will be known as the "ice and block" game. 4.3 million dollars.
