I am aware of the contract, the fact that he wins, and there has been no fireable offenses committed. I realize he isn't going anywhere for awhile. I am also of the belief that a replacement will be difficult to find. I posed the question to see how far the loyalist would be willing to go before changing their mind.
I can tell you that it would be a while before he even sits on a warm seat. But let me regress, I don't think of myself as a Miles loyalist but instead an LSU loyalist. A guy who believes in this team, the teams of the past 13 years and the state of our program. I believe that we should all be 100% behind the program and not want to jump ship at the smallest hint of failure. I believe that we should all hunker down, watch each others back and fight like hell to dig out of the hole we are in. I want the type of people with me who lead the US in WWI & WWII, not the pansies who lead the US in Korea and Vietnam. So many of our fans are way to anxious to jump ship at the first sign of adversity instead of showing the steely resolve of a true fan. Our former coach was so right when he repeatedly talked about the doomsday attitude of many LSU fans.
I dont think any are calling for Les Miles to be fired. At least, I simply state his pay check warrants more than just "10 wins". For all those that quote the "90's", fuck your 90's. This isn't the 90's when LSU was a shit team. This is the now when LSU is elite. Elite teams don't lose to Ole Miss! You don't become the greatest shooting for 2nd. All that is remembered are winners. So I say fuck the 90's and give me championships b/c that is ALL that matters!
Nick Saban lost to Ole Miss while he was here. Also lost 5 games in one season. Also lost bowl games to teams from the Big 10 and Big 12. Lost to UAB. Lost to Virginia Tech. Almost lost to Kentucky if not for divine intervention, lost on 2 hail Mary's one to Arkansas and one to Iowa. Lost to Alabama 31-0 in Death Valley, Jesus can you imagine if Miles did that?
Don't know the fable of the dog and the bone but I know the one about the Solich and the cornhuskers.
