True, but this game was more about having taken three beatings in a row, I think. Ole Miss was humiliated after a hot start and were fired up to play football. Hill said "we came out flat". I don't understand this "come out flat" business. Coach needs to bench guys who come out flat until they can put some vertical in their game. Still . . . one of those end-zone interceptions gets caught and its a different ball game. Mettenberger will not have a bad game like this very often. Our defense has issues but nobody has blown us out like Clemson. We are going to be a competitive team for the rest of the year.
We will almost always be flat vs ole. Mis. That's human nature and it's role in sports. You can only be up a handful of games each year. That's why coaching is crucial and is often the difference when a team is flat. Not being able to get off the field on D lost this game. Had plenty of time to overcome the early mistakes.
I sincerely agree with this. All coaches deal with this, but the best keep it in check. I wouldn't consider this to be a Miles strong point at all though.
I just hate having a dimwit in charge. Les just said the other coaches told him to take the timeout. But he wanted to ice the kicker instead. Which he still failed to do. Baffling this dude won the games he has. Maybe it was mostly the talent.
I still think the interceptions were the key to this loss. That is a fixable thing. The defense has issues, but if they can keep us within 3 points of anybody, our offense has a shot. Assuming the coach gives them a shot.
