Not at all. There's a big difference between recruiting a coach to your school because a highly successful coach retired, and recruiting a coach after you fired the highly successful predecessor.
I dont have any answers either. As frustrated and emotional as I was last night I know Miles has won big here at LSU. I know firing him isnt the answer. Same with Chavis. However, both men do have to realize their deficiencies. They have to swallow pride, evaluate the situation to take the steps to fix the issue. With Chavis, as you mentioned 4 losses. All at the end of the game because of his D. He loses all balls at the end of the game. No blitzing, CBs give huge cushions. Its a very alarming, re-occuring theme here. It must be addressed or his ass will and should be on the line. Not to mention this D has zero fundamentals. ITs the worst tackling team Ive ever seen at LSU. When it comes to Miles the end of the game/half management must improve. There is no excuse for it to happen nearly EVERY damn game now. Youre a FN professional. Im not sure how that can be fixed, maybe have someone who is more focused to help out? As Ive said, how do you expect a team of kids to have discipline and attention to detail when the head coach clearly doesnt? Whats scary is that LSU has really fallen the last few years(outside of the magic of '11). The issues of 3rd and long, end of game D schemes and losing at the last sec. Miles with his clueless ways, as well as TO/clock mis-management. If those dont get addressed then both men should be. Miles is already losing top tier players from the state, eventually kids wont be as eager to come to LSU.
Interesting then, that Les Miles is the only coach in the history of LSU to figure this out and win 10 games multiple times.
Miles needs to have a Time Geek out there with him, on the sidelines, at all times. Someone who is a savant when it comes to time management--that would be his (her?) only function. There must be people like that! Also, is it just me, or do we have trouble with Teams Wearing Red Jerseys? Cause, if we manage to win over aTm, we could lose the four Reds: GA, Ole Miss, Gumps & Arky. Arky, you laugh? After last night, don't tell me that Arky could not rattle our cage! Mett opened the door to Ole Miss' win when he threw those three I's. Psychologically, it told Ole Miss that they could do this! They were beaten (psychologically) before he did so, IMHO. Give Mett a good night and we hang 50 on them. After GA, they all said that "LSU still controls its future;" after last night, I don't believe so. Last night we could have lost to ULM. I sense a "Muffaletta Bowl" in our near future. I feel ill this morning....
