Well it appears that the rules are flawed then. In that case blame should go to those that create the rules not the coaches that are following them. If Miles went over the allowed signing limit thats one thing but he did not. If miscalculating your attrition and oversizing is so terrible then it should be outlawed and enforced for all schools. You can't expect Miles to just voluntarily decided to put the team at a recruiting disadvantage when ever other school is doing it and it's legal.
I got into it with Doyel on Twitter, and kind of made him rethink his position. I don't think Miles should be the focus of the article. What changed his vibe was reading Miles's transcript from yesterday after I sent it to him. The Advocate even left out the regret Miles had. Our staff did not plan on everyone qualifying, and Miles is not one to make a habit out of this. Doyel picked a poor target to dump on IMO.
Did he say something that made you believe that he began to "rethink his position"? Details, please. Good job, btw.
Tweets to me from Doyel: @_GeauxTigersGo Very classy of him, and I do believe it wasn't easy for him. Glad to hear him fall on the sword like that @_GeauxTigersGo I'll give you this: Over the years, Nutt has been BY FAR the worst grayshirter. Porter broke my heart, but ...yeah. Nutt sux On me calling NCAA the true enemy: @_GeauxTigersGo Definitely we have some middle ground. I write acerbicly, and understand the displeasure I generate.
