Not sure why this p.o.s. had to pretty much single LSU out,put CLM's picture up, throw his name in the headline and completely bash him in the opening paragraph and throughout the article. This Gregg Doyel guy is an a-hole. Read for yourselves: He goes on to write about a couple of subjects that he obviously knows nothing about: :angryfire:angryfire:angryfire:angryfire http://www.cbssports.com/collegefoo...d-guys-utilize-oversigning-and-it-has-to-stop I don't even know where to start!o:o:
I thought it was funny, mostly because Miles doesn't even come across as mean-spirited, let alone a "grim reaper" type. This looks like Bama recruiting propaganda.
I agree. Whether you are a CLM fan or not, this article should irk all LSU fans, mostly because of the inaccuracies, but also b/c of the lack of respect for the University. CLM is alot of things....but a bad guy he is not.
What publication is this from? Too tired to shoot holes in just how pooorly written and baseless this is, but yeah.... The Porter situation was pretty shady on LSU's behalf, but that doesn't excuse the shoddiness of this "column".
He did slam Saban, Nutt also, but it was weird that Miles was the center piece of abuse. But I don't totally disagree with the premise that over signing is bad and unfair to athletes. I understand a certain bit makes up for injury/transfer type attrition, but it has gotten out of hand. Or else the 'nutt rule" would not have been passed. Even though CFB is big business, it still needs to show some integrity towards it's primary bread winners, which are in effect virtual slaves.
Not even shady on LSU's end. When you refine a rule in May after all the LOI are already in there are going to be issues with the numbers as we are seeing with many programs around the country. Greyshirt offers happen all the time and are usually not a big deal. Not like we kicked Porter to the curb.
I just wanna know when he's gonna do a piece on Janzen Jackson, Mike Davis, et al....'committing' to teams and then bailing when it's too late for the school to do anything about it.
Probably a relative or friend of one of the disgruntled players or one of their friends. I found this tripe to be a personal hack job. He didn't point out any other coaches or conferences that are worse in oversigning. He placed no blame on the NCAA which changed rules in mid stream. He placed no blame on the players who might have reported out of shape or had lazy work habits. He placed no blame on the "mentors" who are sometimes trying to elicit illegal benefits. He completely ignored the situation of DeAngelo Benton, who was a victim of another recruit's dad's demands. He paid no attention to the fact that we oversigned by two because everyone qualified (a real good thing). It wasn't about the oversigning issue....it was all about the assassination of Miles Character. Funny, at first, I thought the three occasions were the end of the Ole Miss game, Miles initial decision to go ahead and hire Orgeron, and the end of the Arkansas game several years ago.
