I applaud your optimism, but Ole Miss, Alabama, and even Arkansas can beat us, especially Alabama. I hope we pull it out, but I've not been impressed at all this year. There's no tenacity, and no consistency at QB or on defense. I want to see LSU win and Saban lose more than anyone, but I'd be absolutely shocked if we upset (yes, we are now considered upsetters) Alabama.
With our defense, we don't want any part of the pokes. They would kill us and remind us on every reception as to why we didn't offer Dez Bryant a scholly. This is not a scenario I want to see play out.
After what I saw on the first play from scrimmage yesterday, and the pass coverage where our guys were fooled almost routinely by Georgia, I'd say that 10-2 is a pie in the sky attitude, and totally unrealistic. I'm an optimist most of the time, but after yesterday's game, it's tough to think positive.
We won't finish the season any worse than 9-4 (with a bowl game), and Ten wins is still on the table with some key improvements. Bama has looked like pretenders lately and if the Tigers play an inspired game and somehow make adjustments between now and then we can send them home BCS wannabes. After that, Ole Miss will challenge and Arkansas will play but those games are winnable. After that, he needs to look for a Defensive Coordinator.
Les needs to look for a DC NOW. After watching yesterday's game, all of the missed tackles, the slow defense, etc. etc. was just mind boggling and downright silly.
I hope he's already made that decision in his head at least. We've all sat back in amazement at just how much the wheels have really come off on defense. Absolutely unacceptable. In recent years the idea that our defense would be a joke never even entered my mind. :nope:
