If I go with my gut, Miles likes the teaching aspect of coaching.

I suspect that Les will coach at LSU until he's satisfied that he's left an enduring legacy, then . . . he might do a short stretch at Michigan to close out his career. I just don't see him coaching in the NFL at this point in his career. The NFL failures of Saban and Spurrier and their jumping right back into the SEC will have made an impression.

Miles isn't enough of an X's and O's coach for the NFL. He's a teacher, a leader, a great talent evaluator, and a phenomenal manager of personnel, but not enough of a robot for the league.

Agree. He'd be like Jerry Glanville.

I tend to agree with this but even though a cfo is strictly a numbers guy, it's still hard to turn down a ceo role.

Some people want to be at the highest level of their profession even if it doesn't fit their skill set as well as one notch down. I guess we'll find out in the next few years.

And Pete Carroll comes to mind. To me he's more of a Pete Carroll type of coach. Both "players' coach" but Miles has more integrity.

The grass is greener, and tastes much better in the SEC.
