Ten-Point Stance: NFL teams going mad for Les Miles - NFL - CBSSports.com Football I don't know what his goals are but we may have to fight away more than just Michigan to keep him in the future. At least two of the jobs he would probably want, New Orleans and Dallas, are tied up with good young coaches.
I suspect that Les will coach at LSU until he's satisfied that he's left an enduring legacy, then . . . he might do a short stretch at Michigan to close out his career. I just don't see him coaching in the NFL at this point in his career. The NFL failures of Saban and Spurrier and their jumping right back into the SEC will have made an impression.
Miles isn't enough of an X's and O's coach for the NFL. He's a teacher, a leader, a great talent evaluator, and a phenomenal manager of personnel, but not enough of a robot for the league.
I tend to agree with this but even though a cfo is strictly a numbers guy, it's still hard to turn down a ceo role. Some people want to be at the highest level of their profession even if it doesn't fit their skill set as well as one notch down. I guess we'll find out in the next few years.
And Pete Carroll comes to mind. To me he's more of a Pete Carroll type of coach. Both "players' coach" but Miles has more integrity.
I'll know he stays when K. Backstreet says he gone.......:thumb: Don't see the fit, but thats just me.
