Re: Fire Les Miles he said it. they opened the channel 9 news with it i believe. said it was all his fault and takes full responsibility. the chronology of all the different clips was not made clear though. both local channels showed a myriad of soundbites.
Re: Fire Les Miles I just want to know where I can buy my fire Miles bumper stickers, t-shirts, and hats!
Re: Fire Les Miles And thats great that he manned up and said that and I would love to find out which statements came first. Right now as far as the game is concerned yeah it sucks I am more dissappointed with him in his post game comments....and the one that sticks is on the WBRZ video at the end of his comments he says " I DID NOT CALL THAT PLAY" its around the 1:37 mark...my definition of a coward is someone that will preform an act of self preservation at the expense of someone else. What happened in the game happened in the game yeah it sucks, yeah mistakes were made but they were made through out the whole game....the comments that followed are what have me upset and I think carry more weight then ANYTHING that happened between the goalines!
Re: Fire Les Miles OKAY...we get it. Enuf already. You think Les Miles is a coward and a liar...you even started a thread to this effect after the game. I'm just saying that you're being selective by choosing to ignore his other comments in which he takes the blame on himself. I realize that you want to infer some evil intent to the order and subtely of his phrasing…but there is no cowardly act here. Was last night embarrassing? Yes - very much so. Did CLM screw up? Yes – he admits it himself. Did he seem contradictory in some of his post-game comments? Yup Did he blame himself for the problems? Yes, he most certainly did. This character assassination stuff might be adding to your post count and making you a temporary internet hero, but I just see it as self-serving, attention-grabbing, knee-jerking. And it aint helping LSU.
Re: Fire Les Miles Ok he said he takes the blame, he also said that he heard different things in his headset, he also said that HE wanted to run the ball but put it in the hands of his QB, and then in a double sided addition said that was his mistake, and he also said the HE himself did not call the clock play. He said alot of things so you take what you want from it and I will take my point of view. As far as his character I am not the only person here and elsewhere that sees what happened post game as a HUGE flaw in that area. And as far as the comments about me personally I'll let what I do for this board and the members here speak to those!
Re: Fire Les Miles True. But you ARE the only one I see that started a thread that called him out as a LIAR and COWARD. Look, if you think he's a bad coach, just say so. But this highly selective video-proof-based character assassination is way over the top, in my opinion. I know that you pride yourself in all that you do for this board, but that doesn't give you a pass for calling our coach a coward and a liar. Perhaps if you're lucky, some of the sporting media might even pick up on your comments here...I'll be sure to give you credit when I hear ESPN spewing the whole "JJ under-the-bus" thing.
Re: Fire Les Miles Wow. I'm shocked and disappointed with the comments on this thread. Sometimes I consider not coming back here anymore. I think if you want to asassinate someone over this game, then you need to review your own life. Miles screwed up. Probobly not as many times as most of us have. You don't get to his position by being an azzwipe. Too many tapes running with your life on it. I'm not happy at the moment with him, but his the plus marks in his column far outweigh his minus's.
Re: Fire Les Miles what's his record agaisnt Bama, Ole Miss, Florida, and the Hogs in the last 2 years? He is a good coach, Miles is a leader, IF he can learn to manage a game or delegate it before his poor game management abilities permantly attach themselves to his resume or LSU. or he can move on and carry his bad habits with him. At the level Miles is coaching there is no room or excuse for even one game managed this poorly, everyone knows what he is paid. Most people look at it like the athletes he recruits deserve better. he makes promises to these young men based on our program and ability to win and create a high profile for their careers. he is not helping their careers when he does this and they know it. consequently a mess up like this can do more harm to LSU than any crystal trophy has done good in the past. it is the PRESENT and future that young athletes see. the past is a nice indicator but unfortunatly the immediate past is closer to the present than the crystal ball. college football is big money now, for the schools just like the pro;s You cant rest on your laurels.
