31-0 wax job at half ... LSU cruises to a 41-13 victory, being outscored in the second half 13-10 by the Apps.

50+ shutout game was possible with ASU having single digit first downs, but Miles played everyone including the waterboy.

Scott was amazing, along with both starting offensive and defensive lines.

Williams didn't show us anything. Murphy didn't get enough carries, but picked up a couple of 1st downs.

QBs did well, with 1 INT by Lee WAS THE ONLY TURNOVER OF THE GAME.

    ZERO FUMBLES FOR LSU!

TH on kickoffs, Jones handled punts well.

Punting was a worry, inconsistent, but can be improved.

In the end, a cruising finish with an easy win, even if ASU did score 13 on the subs.

I don't think Miles avoided running up the score as much as he took advantage of the chance to get some reps on his backups.

    Scott was very good.

I think Williams will have a very uncomfortable Sunday watching film. No reason for him to step out of bounds on one of those runs, and he absolutely just quit running on another. With as much talent as LSU has at RB, it's amazing that Williams isn't hungrier. He has the talent, but he just doesn't seem to push himself.

Lafell and Byrd had some very, very good blocks downfield. Both these guys are GREAT receivers.

Miles did not run up the score, but we did keep the starters in for quite a while, probably just because it was the first game of the year.

I usually agree with you on the running up the score thing. I hate mercy.

However, in this case I think it was more of a thank you. App St made a good bit of concessions for this game to happen. They could have very easily said eff it, and stayed in Boone.

Why risk an injury to a key player when you don't have to?

Pollsters don't give a sh!t what we do. We move up when somebody above us stumbles. Period. Just win, baby.

I'm sure other team's fans will enjoy pointing out that Appy State out-scored us in the second half, but not nearly as much as I am going to enjoy watching our young players beat their teams because they got early playing time in their career at LSU.

The game served it's purpose. We got a win. We got a decent scrimmage in against a decent team going against plays that were not scripted. I'm very happy that we were in a position to get so many guys in the game. We should grow a great deal as a team because of this game.

No one in the national media is faulting us for not breaking fifty points, or allowing them to score a few points. I think a lot of them were surprised we had such a easy time with them with all of the crazy circumstances.
