I agree with you here. I also think this game is where the fans need to step up be the 12th man, make Tiger Stadium as loud as humanly possible everytime Bamas offense lines up to take a snap. Get in McElmos head and good things will happen for the Tigers.
I think comments like that must come from younger or newer Tiger fans who don't realize we're in the best period of LSU football EVER.
I get it, but why harp on it. It isn't like us complaining on some message board is actually going to have any effect on decisions made by this coaching staff. Something that I do find and interesting phenomenon is we Tiger fans will banter back and forth, one side against the other, one tearing down the coaches and some of the players, the other trying to support the team with a ray of hope things will get better; then the media chimes in and a portion of the fan base jumps to the supporting cast bashing the media for their opinion, while a portion joins in and agrees with what the media says and uses it to support their argument as to why the coaches and the team sucks; then the phenomenon happens, the fan base from our opposition starts to bad mouth and point to our weaknesses, and all the Tiger fans join together to show their support for the team. A point that I bring up only to show that even the biggest negatiger, realist, or complainer has a breaking point, a point in which they will show how much of a fan they really are, and how much they really do support and want the team and coaches to win. Bottom line, in the end, we are all in this together.:geaux: :LSU231: :geauxtige
so i have an honest question because i'm curious... frank solich, bill calahan, rich rod, larry coker, zook, kiffin, (though he had some success), everyone at ND after holtz, etc big time programs have hired the wrong guy (you might argue that miles is the wrong guy) and have fired the wrong guy (solich it would seem) and doing so has led to a period of decline whether it be temporary (UF), or extended (ND). with no guarantee that the next coach after miles would be guaranteed success, would you be willing to trade 4-8 down seasons (averaging 6-7 wins, no conf title game appearances, non new year's day bowls or none at all, etc) to get rid of miles and get someone else in here?? then there's no guarantee the guy after the one who comes after him would have success so best case you have a nebraska/florida situation, mid level outcome = miami? regardless of my feelings on miles, it seems like such a gamble. would you take that deal?
So you think LSU just needs to make a change, regardless of how the year plays out. Then are you wanting LSU or Alabama to win Saturday ? If LSU wins, Miles sure won't be going anywhere after this season.
Even if Miles gets blown out by 50 points on Saturday or drops the rest of the games on the schedule, he ain't going anywhere for another few years. Those that want Miles gone now are in for several more years of complaining. Might as well get used to him and hope we see a fresh face on the sidelines as the OC and not the same idiot up in the booth.
That reminds me, I thought Crowton was gone after last fall. I want to say there was an article in either the Advocate or T-P before the Arkansas game that mentioned something to the effect, "Crowton has resigned himself to the notion he won't be back" --paraphrasing,but something similar. And the Penn State game sure wasn't an offensive gem, pig slop or not. I'm afraid "The Wizard" ain't going anywhere anytime soon.
Not sure but I think he got a raise instead, Miles prolly couldn't give him away this past off season.
If I remember correctly, I believe either Bhelm or someome said he's on contract through another 4 years.
