Maybe after he's gone, because no matter what he does he can't satisfy some of the fan base and media, they'll be happy.
I had to deal with my boss and colleague yesterday who think this way. The frustrating thing is I can never pin down any actual concrete reasoning for their position. The conversation basically went like this: Them: I just don't think Miles is that great of a coach, he doesn't have that charisma to be a championship coach. Me: He's won a SECCG and NC. Them: But I just don't see any fire and intensity out of him. Me: How do you know? Do you attend practices and team meetings? Are you privy to private conversations between Miles and players? Them: But the team is playing flat. Me: Um, starting QB with 4 full starts, completely revamped defense. You're expecting to win by 40 against every team we play after 2 games? Them: Well Rahim Alem hasn't looked too good so far. No team leaders. Me: Are you serious? SEC defensive player of the week? Oh yeah, he's having a terrible season. Me: What would Miles have to do to convince you he's a championship-caliber coach? Them: (crickets) And on and on it goes. They think the only coaches who are capable of being successful are the Nick Saban's of the world who get in players' faces non-stop. How quickly they forget the UAB's, the Oregon State's, the La.-Monroe's. Not to mention all of the assistants he's single-handedly run off. Miles can't win with these people. If he's successful, he did it with (a) Nick's talent, (b) the foundation Nick set up or (c) the team we played was overrated anyway. If he loses he's a mediocre coach who can't inspire his team.
I referenced the way you are behaving to people who hold a different opinion than you in the same manner as Obama has directed his ire at those who have different opinions. You stated your assumption without reference to any case study or common sense reasoning. You must not watch many LSU football games. CLM always shows some emotion. Watch the UF game in 07. After Hester scores the GW touchdown and is lying in the endzone. Watch when Hester walks back to the sideline. CLM went on the field to check on Hester. And as CLM was walking back to the sideline he lets out a wahoo kind of shout . When Byrd catches the GW vs Auburn that same season he's screaming and pumping his fist. Prior to the start of the 3rd qtr @ UT in 06 he is fired up talking to the cbs reporter . Many more examples are there. But like I stated in an earlier post, your personal expectation of how much emotion is displayed is not clearly defined. I believe that you have no idea how much emotion should be displayed and should not offer such opinions if you cannot handle hearing opinions that differ from you. I haven't read any posts on this thread that attack you personally so I don't understand the need to be rude to someone who disagrees with you. Most people who use the tactics use them because they do not have the skill to defend their opinion or they realize that their opionin is unfounded and do not have the where withall to admit being wrong. Or just are simple minded maybe.
Just one of the points I made in my first post. Watch out for Rex B. He won't put up with this delusional hate speak unless you can point out a study compiled by ACORN or something.
This fact is largely ignored because CLM doesn't say cute things like "a'ight, it's time to move on, relative to, brook trout, etc."
C'mon, It's not like I'm trying to set up an underage illegal alien prostitution ring over TF. Give me a little credit. :hihi:
You sure seem to be having trouble with it. Lying and ignorance are two very different concepts. She pointed out your ignorance on the subject. She did not call you a liar. To the rest of you, I am sorry to extend this thread, but I felt like that needed to be spelled out explicitly or Rex_B might not understand it.
