Miles: "We are very optimistic about Eric Reid; Loston is prepared to play safety the entire game (if needed). #LSU

I don't think he covers as well on the deep pass, but he hits hard as hell.

........but I hope he proves me wrong about his ability to cover deep!

Nope, Loston was a 5* player. Reid, only a 4*.

Ironically you're the one who posted on my Les Miles Era recruiting thread that star ratings were irrelevant.

    Interesting turnaround.

Loston is nowhere near the player Reid is in terms of knowing where to be on the field and how to react to plays. That's why you have rarely seen Loston play this season, except for special teams. It speaks to both how far Reid has come in his development and the lack of development on Loston's part.

So yes a big dropoff. Just nailing someone with the ball is the smallest part of being a great free safety. And even on this aspect of his game, Loston has been flagged for a couple of 15 yard roughness penalties as he has been a bit out of control.

Yeah, but it might be nice for him to ring a couple of bells in the first quarter!

In Les speak this means Reid is going to hurt you. Badly.
