This is exactly what he said. Any other interpretation is the media trying to spin it. It's a loaded question with no right answer anyway. Not like he could say, "Hell yeah Newton would start no question. Our guys suck."
ESPN did a very good spot on this. They basically stated that quoting people out of context has become a serious problem, and they used Les as an example. It was a very professional thing for them to do. Maybe they caught some heat for their past treatment of Les.
Drake Nevis would dominate the starting DL position at any SEC program you can name.....and no it's not a debate. Patrick Peterson would dominate the starting CB position at any SEC program you can name.....and no it's not a debate. Tyrann Mathieu would dominate the starting CB position at any SEC program you can name.....and no it's not a debate. Kelvin Sheppard would dominate the starting LB position at any SEC program you can name.....and no it's not a debate. Stevan Ridley would dominate the starting RB position at any SEC program you can name.....and no it's not a debate. I could go on and on. Put that in your pipe and smoke it.:crystal::crystal: :thumb:
Why is anyone still trying to understand WTF Les means by his comments? We should know better than to try to interpret anything he says by now. None of us speak his language. Hell, HE doesn't even speak his language. Just laugh or cry at his comments and decipher it to mean whatever we want it to be. It's not like he is willing or even able to explain it to us in English. Les is pretty good at not giving direct answers to simple questions. He should have played the "damn strong football team" and "have a great day!" cards. It worked great for him the last time.
