In the words of my six year old... nuh uhhh! Another poster stated the stats of the UF game... in the 2nd half, the breakdown was around 14 passes and 6 runs.... (don't quote me)...... The last drive, the UF D gave LSU the middle and underneath. :geauxtige:geauxtige :geauxtige:geauxtige
so what you're basically saying is we should have hung on for the ride on the INT's last year and they werent that bad? better than this year??? and a problem with the O ffense this year resulted from the fan base not being happy from last year? who was it that paniced and changed? Miles or the fans? and what exactly did they change if it was the fans?? about all the fans could change would be not showing up..... that would change some stuff but I dont see that happening @ LSU and the problem with the O can be fixed without changing a thing? So your theory is if it is broke dont fix it? I am really struggling with this thought process here. I get it that change may not always be better BUT to do nothing is kind of silly too. punish the fan base????? I'm just asking here for clarity... how exactly do you PLAN to punish the fan base and still keep your job as a coach? have you considered that the fan base buys the tickets that fill the stadium that pays the University? I do see what you mean though.... a fan base and media can effect coaches BUT a good coach does what he is paid to do... ignore them and win. or at least most of the time win.
Red its not as bad as he makes it but you need to quit living in the past. Every time someone says something about the offense you give that old " well at least we dont suck like we used to in the 90's " well no duh! EVERYONE is glad We dont suck Red. trust me. dont set your goals for a C because you once got an "F" Set them as high as you know you can do. I know you will come back with something because no matter what you never agree, but this is basic, if you cant set goals above past failures that will eventually manifest itself as your highest level. As a fan it means nothing, as a person it is huge. question: the saints have sucked forever but they have been to the playoffs b4...... now wouldnt you like to see them win the super bowl? and NOT just make it to the playoffs? A kid has sucked forever at math but he gets an "A" for one semester. Then he sinks back to slightly above what he was used to before a D. Now we know the kid is capable of "A's" shall we just tell his parents that they should be happy he is passing? :nope: I swear we need a remember the 90's icon so all you folks that want to wallow in past failures can be happy... woe is me we used to suck... be happy we dont suck... yeah ok... Im happy :insane:
You're obviously not aware of the Crowton curse. I wasn't either until recently. His first year is outstanding. His second year.. good. His third year.. continues to go down-hill. Crowton doesn't really develop QBs. He's outstanding at working with what he is given and he can take an already good QB and make him great. He just doesn't seem to be able develop his own QBs. He can go and I wouldn't be sorry to see him gone. Miles is going to have to make changes or get out himself (he did an outstanding job after the season last year). On the 'On Crowton from 2007' article.. nearly every criticism I made about Miles was mentioned while speaking on Crowton -- I was wrong about either Crowton or Miles. Crowton is a heck of alot easier to replace.
Aw, Bullchit. Everybody including me has commented on the offensive woes. What I object to is some doofus saying that there was a "complete abandonment of coaching" or "LSU is destined to fail" or that losing to a team that we were supposed to lose to is a "pathetic display." I've seen abandoned coaching, pathetic displays, and real football failure and the minor disappointments we've had this year just don't compare. That's my opinion based on observation and its got nothing to do with "stuck in the past". :insane: WTF are you talking about? You have sailed off on a complete tangent.
maybe, we'll never know. clm get paid big bucks to make these decisions. its possible the team would be better off this season if they had stuck with lee. the team certainly doesnt really get anything from a loss to arky and win against gt (except elevated preseason ranking)
I kind of figured I'd get that response. Oh well Im just happy we arent 1-5..... :rolleye33: like back in the good old 90's
A good post, and you make some good points. On the other hand, consider our defense last season. It sucked, we could see it sucked, Miles saw it sucked and after the season the two headed DC both found new jobs and  found a new DC. The fans are not always wrong. Anyone can look at our offense this season and see it is under performing badly. We're what, last in the SEC, with the WR, TE, and RB we have? That's pathetic, simply pathetic, and I'm not normally a basher. The play calling against Fla. and the QB play were painful to watch (our D on the other hand played great and were inspiring to watch). JJ is not effective this season. JL is a redshirt soph, he's been in the system 2 1/2 years now. Crowton should have had time to develop him. Put him in and give him some real playing time, give him a shot. JJ needs a rest and some help. The running game is not going and the passing game is not going. We have issues on the o-line, QB, and OC. Les needs to get it straightened out. The fans are not blind nor ignorant, not all the time. We were right last year on the DC thing, that got fixed. The offense needs some fixing.
