Les blames Crowton for sluggish offense?

No, not a Bama poser. In fact, I'd love nothing better than to see LSU spoil Bama's season on November 7th.

Right now, I can't see that happening. But the Tigers still have time to make improvements and hope that 25 or 30 Tide players get caught in another text-book scandal.

My point is, Les needs to turn it around quickly. It is as much his fault as anybody else's that the Tigers haven't put a good QB on the field in 2 years. And as head coach, he must shoulder the blame for what was a pathetic display against Florida last Saturday night. :tigerhead

If we can control the line of scrimmage, and establish the run, we will walk out of tuscaloosa with the 5th win in a row there. I think the defense will hold them down enough that we wont need to do too much, but we will need to move the ball, and control the point of attack.

I've seen bits & pieces of a couple of Bama games. Their D looked stout to me and its purported to be as good as the Gators D. Unless we significantly improve our blocking I don't see us controlling the line of scrimmage and running the ball effectively against the Bama D.

I can see where some circumstances of the Florida game would limit the ability to call certain plays...but the anemic offense didn't just show up against Florida. Granted you can lay some of it at the feet of a great Florida defense but whether you can blame inexperience at QB or a coaching staff not playing to personnel strengths is probably 50/50 at this point. I think it is solvable but I wouldn't look for a wholesale change in the offense.

I know most of you have seen it...and I feel no need to post the link. But the fact is, Gary Crowton's offense here has done exactly what it's done everywhere he's been. It is proven by history at several stops in his career-Chicago Bears, BYU, Oregon. Great first year, decline, then decline, then gone. That's facts. First year at LSU, record breaking...and BCS Champs. But since? Ugly...and getting worse.

I saw reports of this the day he was hired at LSU, and wouldn't believe it. I...like most LSU fans that saw the reports...thought it would be different at LSU for him. After all, we have all this talent...and this is "The Wizard"! Well, 5-1, top ten, whatever you wanna say...the offense is pitiful. That's his responsibility...that's reality.

Pretty sure that Nebraska fired a coach with a record like that. Not saying it should happen here but it has happened.

Is he not? It's his team and everybody knows it. I just don't think a close loss to the #1 team is a "pathetic display". I don't think a top-10 ranking and control of our destiny is shameful either.

I don't think you've ever seen really bad football.

Are you kidding? I'm a New Orleanian born in the 70s (think Saints). And I went to LSU during the Hallman years!

If you had told me we would only lose to UF by 10, I would've accepted that. But after seeing that...with ANY OFFENSE WHATSOEVER...we would've won, it stings.

Bottom line, if you think our offense isn't "bad football", you're an ostrich.
