The point, which you missed, is that they are stupider than the coaches they criticise. It is only you that is stupider than me. :hihi:
Thanks, Red. Really, though, I don't usually put much stock in ESPN guys. But like it or not, all of McShay's points were valid, and nothing in the Tiger offense changed vs. Florida. I mean, damn. What was the offensive gameplan vs. the #1 team in the country? Can anybody articulate it for me? If you don't "get to your best stuff" against the Gators (as CLM said in his press conference), then when do you get to it? It's not good. The natives are restless. (And if the natives really believed their team was the 10th best in the nation, they wouldn't be so restless.) This adds up to Crowton's job being on the line over the next six weeks. And come December, if Tiger fans feel disappointed for a second straight season, CLM will himself be on shaky ground heading into 2010. :helmet:
If this is the case, it is a poor decision by Crowton. How many plays did Shepard have to know for the Florida game? NONE If Shepard had gotten in the Florida game for only one play, how many plays would he have needed to know? ONE (maybe two or three if you want him to audible, but that doesn't seem to be the case when he enters the game). At this early stage in Shepard's career, he is not yet an every down QB. Keeping him out of games because he doesn't have a grasp on EVERYTHING would be a poor coaching decision.
Well, I think you're dreaming, Hoss. Fan disappointment means little to the people that hire and fire football coaches. If he's winning games, putting butts in the stadium, and LSU is posting profits, Les ain't going nowhere. Nobody, nowhere, no how, ever fired a coach with a 80% winning record. Who are we going to hire if an 80% record, a 100% bowl record, and a national championship gets you fired . . . because some anonymous Internet fans are disappointed? Who has a better record than that?
I'm not saying Alleva is starting up a short list yet. I'm saying another 7-5 (or even 8-4) regular season will keep :milesmic: from sleeping well over the holidays. CLM should be safe through 2010, but there's no guarantee. Why? Because it is Nick Satan who has so quickly gotten Alabama competing for the crystal. Meanwhile, LSU appears to be in decline. This means The Hat's rope is gonna be much shorter than it would under ordinary circumstances. Let :milesmic: lose 3 in a row to Satan, while Bama continues to play in championship games. See what happens, Hoss.
brian kelly and chris petersen are close and heading in the right direction. not that i advocate such a move, just sayin jimmy johnson barry switzer urban meyer doesnt sound great does it?
Because who are they going to get that has done better? When has Bama competed for a crystal? Sometime in the last century? LSU went 12-2 and won the two championship games. Bama went 12-2 but lost the last two. That's not what we call "competing". The Top-10 ain't much of a decline. You're a Bama poser aren't you? When it happens check back. I deal in reality here, not imagination. If Les wins 3 in a row is Saban gone?
